Music of 10 things that I hate about you heads to Broadway
10 things I hate in you is an adaptation for teenagers from 1999 of Shakespeare’s comedy The taming of the Musagaigne. The film was written by Karen McCullah and Kirsten “Kiwi” Smith. He features Julia Stiles as Katarina “Kat” Stratford, the “Musarigne” holder of the Taming the musagaine history. Heath Ledger plays in front of Stiles as Patrick Verona (the contemporary version of Petruchio de Shakespeare).
Similar to Shakespeare’s source material, Patrick is responsible for courting the “difficult” “difficult” sister so that Sister Bianca is easier to live / desirable to Kat is authorized to date. In The taming of the Musagaigne, Katarina must be married before Bianca can get married. In 10 things I hate in you, Bianca is not allowed to go to the prom unless Katarina is also going. Carly Rae Jepsen, the Canadian singer / composer behind tubes like “Call Me Mayl” and “Cut to the Feeling”, will co-write the score with the Grammys winning producer, Ethan Gruska. Gruska worked with artists such as Phoebe Bridgers, Ryan Beatty, Bon Iver, Remi Wolf, Conan Gray and John Legend.
The next musical will also be directed and choreographed by the double winner of Tony Award Christopher Wheeldon (Central scene,, An American in Paris, MJ the musical). Tom Kitt (Double winner of the Tony Award (Next to normal, if / then, small unleashing pill) is on board for musical supervision, arrangements and orchestrations. Mike Bosner (Pulled) will produce.
