Norris, 24, remained motionless on the ground after his head withdrew after contacting the Falcons who run back the leg of Nathan Carter. The medical staff rushed alongside him and he quickly started to convulse on the ground.

He was transported from the field by ambulance after 20 minutes and stayed at Grady Memorial hospital in Atlanta during the night “for observation”.

The injuries left the coaches and the players from the two teams shaken. The Lions head coach Dan Campbell was emotional when he spoke to journalists after the match, who was then suspended by the League with just over six minutes to play.

“When something like it happens, it puts things in perspective,” said Campbell. “I’m just praying for Mo. I ask everyone to pray for him.”

Lions Cornerback Terrion Arnold shared another positive update on Saturday.

He published a screenshot of a facetime call with Norris, which could be seen while smiling in the still.

“My Dawg @ famousmoe26 called me today, sometimes we forget how precious life is and everything,” read his legend on Instagram. “It goes in this game, which we love but we serve an almighty … Thank God for having protected my brother.”

He also shared the photo to X on Saturday with another gratitude message.

“You do not even understand how happy I am to see my man smiling Dawg … God works in a mysterious way, it was just a reminder that we cannot take this beautiful game for acquired and as fans should all understand what we are going by putting our livelihood at risks again, I am happy that my brother is alive and #praisethelord.”
