The American ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz said that he thought that the new peace plan of President Donald Trump could represent a “unique opportunity for the peace of the Middle East”.
Trump published his Gaza peace plan on Monday, which Israel accepted. Despite American criticism of the UN actions in Gaza, the plan is based on the help of the international organization. When asked how it would work, Waltz said the United States, while working with the UN in Gaza, “will continue to call it” and “will require reforms”.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, Waltz highlighted a key problem with the UN: Aid Livily in Gaza. UN numbers show That almost 90% of his aid trucks were intercepted by armed groups or crowds of hungry people between May 19 and August 5. The United States underlined Hamas as the main culprit, saying that agents of the terrorist organization have stolen aid to earn money by selling it.
“We cannot have a situation where the United Nations agencies – the United States pays approximately a quarter of their costs – actually provide aid in a way that Hamas takes care of it. Hamas uses it to earn money on the black market,” Waltz told Fox News Digital.
Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, supported by the United States and Israel, which was strongly criticized by the UN, said on Friday that it had delivered more than 178 million meals since it entered May.

Waltz struck the ground in the race after his appointment to the role on September 19, just a few days before the international organization held its “high level week”. During this week, leaders from around the world, including Trump, addressed New York member states.
Trump clearly said that his goal was to be a peacemaker, which Waltz stressed during his plate with Fox News Digital. However, this does not mean that he does not bring his own experience to this role.
“Green berets are called” war diplomats “. We often have a large stick behind us, “Waltz, which was the first green beret elected to the congress, at Fox News Digital.
He compared this philosophy to Iran’s management by Trump during the summer.
“He gave them the opportunity after the opportunity to move away from an armed nuclear program, to put their enriched materials back on, to engage in diplomacy and when they did not do it, our incredible B-2 went and released them,” he said.

Waltz said he was trying to follow Trump and the visions of Secretary of State Marco Rubio to carry out the first policies in America and “do the UN Grand”. He said that the institution had moved away from its roots and did not act like a place where everyone around the world could solve problems, but the United States seeks to bring this back.
The other major priority for the United States at the UN, according to Waltz, is to get rid of “The Bloat”.
“Like any bureaucracy over 80 years, she has become too large, too bureaucratic and therefore less effective. So I will not say that we are going to draw the Doge here, but we must certainly make cuts,” he told Fox News Digital.
Waltz underlined a recent vote on Haiti as an example of the United States working to obtain results in the UN as a former member of the Florida Congress, he noted that anarchy in Haiti has overturned on the American coast. However, Waltz thinks that the strength of deleting sustained gangs of the UN will restore the law and the order, without making the American bill the bill.
“In accordance with what the president has demanded, we are going to share the burden,” said Waltz. “Other countries are involved. Kenya has taken the lead, El Salvador plays a key role. Other countries pay for that. This is not only everything on the shoulders of the United States.”

Waltz recognized the skepticism of the Americans about the UN, but it argued that it was essential for the leaders of the world to meet on American soil and for Washington to stay at the table. He also underlined the growing influence of international organizations on the American economy thanks to regulations.
“There are all these international bodies that can directly affect our economy and our lifestyle that affect aviation and how we fly around the world, space, telecommunications, radio, data,” he said. “And just as we are fighting for deregulation in our own federal government, we certainly do not want too much global regulation on many of our industries.”
Waltz stressed that staying on a global scale is essential to protect American interests and preventing bad players from filling the void.
“We must say committed, I think, to fight for the values that we are expensive. And if something, this president is a fighter. We will continue to fight for our lifestyle,” said Waltz.
