“Everyone is a little happier when they earn a little more money,” said Cole.

Johnson also spoke directly with workers Vince and Shelby during the event, Shelby telling the speaker that she was “really happy to learn” the new tax provisions.

“We believe that the figures for Tennessee are quite extraordinary,” said Johnson, noting “there are many tilting workers at Music City”.

The bartender Vince noted that the elimination of taxes on advice would make his life “easier”, later noting that it would give him a chance to travel and worry less about money.

This occurs when the Republicans have launched a full-fledged press tour promoting the Trump agenda bill, even though the Democrats are trying to handle it as a political string before the mid-term elections in 2026.

Critics of the bill positioned it as a fiscal gift for the rich Americans to the detriment of vulnerable Americans, citing provisions, including new increased work requirements for certain people on Medicaid and who receive federal food services.

Johnson also attended these criticisms later in the evening, when he speaks during an event for the republican party of Tennessee.

“It’s real money for real people,” said Johnson about legislation. “Now, we can never forget. We never forget that each Democrat in Congress – House and Senate – voted against each of these great victories for the people. And we must remind voters when the left resides on our bills.”

He accused Democrats of “lying” on legislation as their only political crutch.

“How many of you know that this is all they have left? They don’t have a leader, no platform, no politicians digestible by the American people. They only have to lie about what we do,” said Johnson.

“The Democrats voted against the prosperity and security of the American people. And they voted against the tax reductions of the working families. It is as simple as that, and they cannot escape it.”

Trump himself described the legislation as “the biggest tax cuts in the working class in American history” in the comments of journalists before a meeting of the cabinet on Tuesday.

The bill was adopted in the Chamber and the Senate just before the self-imposed deadline for GOP leaders on July 4, Trump marking the holidays during a large signature ceremony.

But the democratic opposition in August was fierce.

In addition to organizing events in their own constituencies, the Democrats of the Chamber and the Senate have traveled across the country by criticizing the bill.

“I have just spoken with seniors in Martinsville of some of the benefits of Trump’s great ugly bill,” wrote Senator Mark Warner, D-VA., S on X of a recent event he organized in his state. “When the impacts of this scam start, we will all be stuck on the bill with worse and more expensive health care.”
