Mike Huckabee, Steve Witkoff to visit Gaza

The American ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee and the special envoy in the Middle East Steve Witkoff should visit Gaza on Friday, after meeting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday in Israel to discuss the means of providing food and assistance to Gaza.

“The Special Witkoff Envoy and Ambassador Huckabee will go to Gaza to inspect the current distribution sites and ensure a plan to deliver more food and meet local Gazans to hear this disastrous situation on Thursday,” Leavitt told journalists. “The special envoy and the ambassador will inform the president immediately after their visit to approve a final food and aid distribution plan in the region.”

“President Trump is a humanitarian aid with a big heart, and that is why he sent the special Witkoff envoy to the region in order to save lives and put an end to this crisis,” said Leavitt.

Leavitt’s comments come when President Donald Trump postponed Netanyahu’s repeated statements refusing a famine crisis in Gaza.

For example, Netanyahu rejected the affirmations that there is a famine crisis in Gaza in a social media position on Monday.

“There is no famine in Gaza, no famine policy in Gaza, and I assure you that we are committed to achieving our war objectives,” Netanyahu said in a Monday X Post. “We will continue to fight until we reach the release of our hostages and the destruction of the military and governing capacities of Hamas. They will no longer be there.”

When he was asked if he agreed with Israeli Prime Minister Trump seemed to question Netanyahu’s assessment on the situation.

“Based on television … These children look very hungry,” Trump said in Scotland on Monday. “But we give a lot of money and a lot of food, and other nations intensify now.

Trump is also committed to working with European allies and establishing “food centers” in Gaza to solve the problem.

Meanwhile, the ceasefire in Qatar has recently collapsed, and the United States and Israel said that Hamas was not interested in having an agreement.

Trump approached the current conflict on Thursday, pushing in Hamas to surrender and release the hostages immediately in order to end the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

“The fastest way to end humanitarian crises in Gaza is that Hamas goes and releases the hostages !!!” The president said in an article on Truth Social Thursday.
