First lady Melania Trump called for a greater “preventive intervention” to identify potential school shooters on Wednesday evening.

His call occurred a few hours after a shooter opened fire on schoolchildren and teachers from the Minneapolis Catholic School Annunciation on Wednesday. The first lady argued that there were often warning signs before mass shooters commit their crimes.

“The tragic mass murder in Minnesota illuminates the need for preventive intervention in the identification of potential school shooters. Signs of early alert are often obvious, many people with behavior and making violent threats online before their actions,” wrote Melania.

“To prevent future tragedies, it is crucial that we examine the evaluations of behavioral threats at all levels of society-by causing themselves in our homes, by stretching in school districts and of course, social media platforms. Being aware of these warning signs and acting quickly can save lives and make American communities safer,” she added.

“My heart is broken for the families and friends of the victims of the violent insane and depraved act today,” she added in a follow-up. “There is nothing that anyone can say so that your grief disappears, but know that you are not alone. My thoughts, love and the deepest sympathy are with you during this terrible time.”

The now deceased shooter of a group of students from the Catholic School of Minneapolis in Morning Mass on Wednesday was identified as Robert or Robin Westman, according to sources of application of the law.

Westman wore three weapons, according to the authorities – a rifle, a pistol and a hunting rifle.
