Marco Rubio slaps fall weddings, considering a threat to football

As summer is coming to an end, sports fans celebrate the return of university football.
In the midst of the list of current debates on the sports landscape, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio seems to have a solution to at least one of the problems in mind. While Rubio may not try to end the discussions on the name, image and resemblance (Nile); the transfer portal; Or the format of the playoffs, he wants to tackle certain schedule conflicts.
Rubio jokingly called President Donald Trump to take action to prohibit weddings from taking place in the fall on the same day that football is played out. Rubio described weddings that conflict with playing schedules “a scourge” on football.

During a recent meeting of the White House cabinet, Rubio pivoted political discussions to express its grievances with those who choose to hold marriages on Saturday which present a complete football slate.

“This thing about people who get married on Saturday during the university football season is a scourge, Mr. President,” said Rubio. “It is to divide families. I do not know if we can have a decree on this subject. There are seven months of the year when people can get married. So I just wanted to say that.”

Rubio is married to his wife, Jeanette Dousdebes, since 1998. Before being appointed to her post in the US State Department, Rubio was a member of the US Senate.
