Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani, the favorite of the most populous city race for America mayor, won the approval of one of the most influential politicians in New York on Thursday.
Democratic representative Adriano Espailt, undoubtedly the most powerful Latin chief in the city, supports Mamdani, who, if elected in November, would become the first Muslim mayor of New York.
“We went beyond the primary and the residents of New York spoke,” said Epsaillat on Thursday. “If there is a common denominator in each decision I have made since I started to represent this district, in terms of support for someone, this is called the Democratic Party.”
Mamdani announced Thursday morning Epsaillat’s approval in an article on social networks, writing: “Thank you @ESPAILLATNY for joining this campaign for an affordable New York and for fighting Trump’s authoritarianism at DC. Adriano and I know that the way we can protect this city is standing in our values and standing for the working class for work and immigrants.

Espailt, in a press release, stressed that “Mamdani brings clarity, discipline and a deep commitment to tackle the obstinate problems with which he is confronted in New York. He understands that our city does not work if everyday New Yorkers – the same people who continue to move forward – cannot afford to live here.”
Mamdani and Espailt joined a campaign event on Thursday afternoon to officially announce the approval by the Congress member of five Ugandan State of State of State of the Queens.
Mamdani Political Tsunami Swamps Democrats while the party is looking for a path to go
The approval by Espailt de Mamdani, who beat the former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and nine other candidates two weeks ago to win the appointment to the mayor of the Democratic Party, is considered a setback for Cuomo.
“His approval is not only extremely significant personally, but also politically, because my dream as next mayor of New York is to deliver for people who make this city formidable. And the only way to deliver together. It is by the partnership,” Mamdani told his supporters on Thursday.
Cuomo, who resigned from his functions in 2021 during his third term as governor in the midst of several scandals and who was aimed at political return, was approved in the Democrat primary by Espailt. And the two politicians teamed up with a rally on the eve of the start of the early vote during the primary elections.
While Cuomo lost the mayor’s democratic appointment against Mamdani, he runs, from now on, on the November voting as an independent, that the rules of the state allow.
Democrat mayor Eric AdamsWho abandoned his main candidacy earlier this year in the middle of the survey numbers which flow following many controversies, seeks a re -election as an independent.

And Espailt, who supported Adams during the mayor’s elections in 2021, was allegedly frustrated by the mayor’s working relationship with Trump on the application of immigration.
Adams survey numbers were still running before he was even charged last year with five counts, who accused the mayor of corruption and fraud as part of an alleged “long -term” regime to personally take advantage of contacts with foreign officials.
The mayor made repeated openings to Trump and the Ministry of Justice earlier this year rejected the accusations of corruption, so that Adams could potentially work with the Trump administration on his illegal immigration repression.

The news of the approval by Mamdani by Espailt was reported for the first time by the New York Times.
Mamdani has achieved a main victory thanks to an energetic campaign that has emphasized the affordability and high cost of New York.
Mamdani has made intelligent use of social media platforms, including Tiktok, while he was engaging in low propagation voters. He proposed to eliminate the prices to set up the vast bus system from New York, making rents from Cuny (University of the City of New York), freezing rents on municipal housing, offering “free daycares” for children up to 5 years and the establishment of grocery stores managed by the government.
And thanks in part to the efforts of a huge army of basic volunteers, he brought a wave of support for younger and progressive voters to catapult themselves in first place.

Since his main victory, the Republicans have implacably painted Mamdani as an extremist and have anchored him to the Democrats across the country before the mid-term elections next year.
The attacks extended from the Voting Bulletin on the campaign campaign to the White House, Trump saying that Mamdani was “a 100% communist madman”. Mamdani continued to repel Trump’s “authoritarian” leadership during his campaign event on Thursday.
“When I had to read the smear and the slander of the Republican Congress, I don’t need to look far to find a leader who had to bear the same thing on the basis of his name, on the basis of where he comes, on the basis of whom he fights.
