Mamdani faces reactions on comments on the financial security net of his family

The candidate for the socialist town hall of New York, Zohran Mamdani, faces the online heat on a clip where he explains how he was able to take time of leave because he knew that his parents would support him financially.

“I worked until January, then I took time at my work and one of the main reasons why I could do it was because I knew that if I lacked my savings, my family would be able to support me,” said Mamdani in the clip of a zoom call Posted on X by a journalist from Washington Free Beacon.

The clip has received criticism on the social networks from those who point to Mamdani’s socialist policies and suggest that the clip is proof that it is comfortable spending money that belongs to taxpayers due to a rich education.

“The only thing my parents have said to me: if you don’t work, and you have no money, we can’t and will not support yourself,” said New York Post Kirsten Fleming columnist Posted on X. “This guy is very comfortable with the money of others.”

Mamdani, who has Criticism Face From his opponent mayor, mayor Eric Adams, for his education “Silver Spoon”, entered the political scene last month when he was victorious in the Democrat primary of the Democrat mayor of New York.

Part of Mamdani’s success was with the voters of the working class while campaigning on various questions affecting voters who work, including the affordability of housing and programs subsidized by taxpayers.

Mamdani will compete against former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and Adams in the general elections in November.
