Speaking at the Flatbush Gardens Community Center, the second anti-Trump event in Mamdani of the week was focused on the accommodation, a hot button number in the New York town hall race, former governor Andrew Cuomo spent days criticizing Mamdani’s rent in Astoria.

“We must remember thatrew Cuomo spent more time talking about my apartment than asking why so many New Yorkers are forced to leave theirs. He spent more time criticizing me than to criticize the legislation that Donald Trump adopted,” Mamdani said on Tuesday.

Mamdani started his tour of a week alongside representative Jerry Nadler, Dn.y., in Manhattan on Monday morning. After visiting Brooklyn on Tuesday, Mamdani will go to Staten Island on Wednesday, the Bronx on Thursday and Queens on Friday, Fox News confirmed.

“While housing experts ring the alarm, Andrew Cuomo sounds Donald Trump,” said Mamdani.

During the events of Mamdani Monday and Tuesday, journalists pointed out the 33 -year -old socialist candidate with questions about Cuomo’s last political proposal – “Zohran’s law”.

The former governor, who lost the primary democratic mayor against Mamdani in June, began to hang out the deputy during the weekend with a video published by Mamdani admitting that he pays “$ 2,300 for my room in Astoria”.

“Apartments stabilized to rent when they are vacant should only be rented to people who need affordable accommodation, not people like Zohran Mamdani,” Cuomo told journalists in a video Published on social networks.

Cuomo said that the “Zohran law” has been designed to prevent high income individuals occupying apartments stabilized to rent.

But Mamdani retaliated on Tuesday on Cuomo’s criticism, saying to journalists: “It hurts me to say that in our former governor Andrew Cuomo, these units, these buildings, these tenants are only a political pawn.”

The head of proposals for the now infamous progressive policy of Mamdani is his commitment to freeze the rents.

“As mayor, Zohran will immediately freeze the rent of all stabilized tenants, and use all the resources available to build the needs of New York accommodation and lower the rent,” the Mamdani campaign website.

Mamdani accused The outgoing mayor Eric Adams to appoint low linen directives to increase rents on stabilized apartments. While the owners and the defenders argue that the frost would be illegal, Mamdani can achieve this objective by naming the members to the council who would not vote to increase the rent.

Cuomo had already described the Democratic socialist’s plan to freeze a “politically practical” posture “and said that such a decision would harm owners who would be” unable to maintain their buildings “.

While the ardent publications on Cuomo’s social networks on the rent -to -rent apartment in Mamdani have gone around, by Blasio – who has not yet approved a candidate in the race to lead the most populous city in the country – retaliated on his former governor.

“I did a freeze of the rent and nearly 2 million New Yorkers who work hard benefited. @Zohrankmamdani wants to make a freeze. dragged.

During the first stop of his anti-Trump tour on Monday, Mamdani responded to Cuomo’s freshly proposed law “This will keep the rich out of the affordable New York housing.”

“What do we know about this political proposal beyond the fact that it seeks to express myself from my apartment?” Mamdani questioned on Monday.

“Like a large part of Andrew Cuomo’s policy, it is characterized by a small vindicte. It leaves many more questions than answers. How many New Yorkers would apply? How many New Yorkers would be expelled from their apartments?” Asked Mamdani.

“I live without rent in his head,” trolled Mamdani in Cuomo, arguing that he had many years to implement policies such as the governor, but now concentrates only to try to count with a “political defeat”.

Shortly after Mamdani’s criticism, Cuomo’s campaign revealed its proposal to protect stabilized rent apartments against high income.

“Under Cuomo’s proposal, when an apartment stabilized in rent becomes vacant, the individual income entering would be capped so that the annual rent represents at least 30% of this income. For example, if an apartment rents $ 2,500 per month ($ 30,000 per year), the new tenant’s income could not exceed $ 100,000”, according to the plan.

The CUOMO campaign also said that the “Zohran law” would only apply to vacant apartments.

Mamdani poured cold water on the plan of Cuomo at the press conference on Tuesday, telling journalists: “What is so absurd for me about Andrew Cuomo’s proposal is that it does not even apply to me. The way he presented this language does not really apply to me, and yet he uses my name.”

When he was contacted to comment on the anti-Trump tour of Mamdani, the spokesperson for the White House, Abigail Jackson, told Fox News Digital: “Comrade Mamdani is the worst nightmare of the American people. His communist policies will chat about our economy, increase crime, the crowd of Americans with free health care for illegal immigrants.

The White House added that “Mamdani’s idea of” immigration reform “is not borders and amnesty for all criminal foreigners that Joe Bidre has released in our country. The American people have repeatedly rejected this communist agenda and the more Mamdani shares its radical policies, the more the American people will withdraw.”
