Murrill unveiled the trial at a press conference and credited the state’s internet crimes against the children who are investigating the company. More than 40% of Roblox users are under 12, she said, adding that the trial was part of a wider effort to deal with an increase in sexual crimes against minors.

“The number of advice that is now coming from the number of advice we used about 10 years ago is magnificent,” said Murrill. “The figures have increased exponentially. … It has become so much more difficult because of social media sites which not only invite our children, but they facilitate their exploitation.”
