The Lieutenant-Governor of California Eleni Kounalakis, who launched an offer from governor more than two years ago, abandons in place a treasurer of the state.
“Right now, I think I can have the greatest impact by focusing on the financial future of California,” noted the Democrat in a statement.
Friday morning, Fox News Digital sent an email to the Kounalakis campaign to ask for comments at Lieutenant-Governor.

Former vice-president Kamala Harris announced in a statement last week that she had “seriously thought about” looking for the governor, but decided not to do it “during this election”.
The 2026 governors’ competition has been widely opened since the current governor of Golden State Gavin Newsom, a democrat who is serving his second term, can no longer take place due to the limit of two state mandates.

“No governor can serve more than 2 conditions”, State Constitution stipulates.
Newsom, which took office in 2019, survived a reminder of governor in 2021, then won the election to a second term in 2022.
