First on Fox: A group of legislators urges the congress to officially condemn “violent attacks” against immigration and customs application (ICE) as threats against federal installations worsen.
He arrives a few days after a shooter opened the fire on an installation of ice in Dallas, killing an inmate and injuring two others before turning the pistol on himself. The federal authorities described it as a targeted attack.
The resolution is directed by the representative Russell Fry, RS.C., president of the Republican study committee August Pfluger, R-Texas, and president of the Small Enterprises Committee of the Roger Williams Chamber, R-Texas.
“Since President Trump took office, there has been an increase in hostile rhetoric and violence against installations and ice officers,” said their resolution.

He noted the most recent shooting, including the official report that one of the ball sockets was registered with “anti-ice”, and he listed seven other incidents or threats for ice facilities and offices that have occurred since June.
The resolution said that “these acts reflect an escalation of attacks against the operations of the application of the Ice and Federal Ice Immigration Act, including an increase of 1,000% of assaults against ice officers”.
This also praised the efforts of the ICE under the Trump administration while warning that “violent and ideologically motivated attacks against ice are endangering life, but undergo the confidence of the public in the rule of law and alter the capacity of the ice to carry out legitimate missions”.
The resolution is largely symbolic and would be an expression of solidarity with the ice if it had passed through the house.
The recent shooting of the installation of Dallas Ice saw the bipartite condemnation, but such a measure could divide the Democrats with its praise of the efforts of the Trump administration. Democrats have criticized what they considered too severe tactics in the continuation of President Donald Trump’s repression against illegal immigration.

The Democratic leaders of the Chamber published a joint declaration after the shooting which read, in part, “person in America should not be violently targeted, including our men and women in the police who protect and serve our neighborhoods, and immigrants who are too often the victims of dehumanizing rhetoric.”
Fry, who directed the resolution, told Fox News Digital: “It is unacceptable that ice officers are targeted to maintain the laws of this country. The congress must send a clear and undoubtedly unmistakable message: violent attacks will not be tolerated and reckless will not be excused, and we will remain firmly with those who will protect us every day.”

“Radical leftists prefer to see the criminal illegal foreigners that the Biden administration has let in our country continue to wreak havoc in our communities than to support courageous men and women who have put their lives at stake every day to maintain our laws and defend American citizens,” he said.

Williams told Fox News Digital: “The odious targeted attacks against our ice facilities and officers are unacceptable and should never be tolerated. These men and women put their lives every day to respect the rule of law, protect our borders and ensure the safety of American families.”
In a statement published on X this week, the secretary of the Department of Internal Security, Kristi Noem, blamed “the toxic anti-ice rhetoric of sanctuary politicians and radical activists” for the increase in threats against the immigration authorities.
This comes in the midst of an increase in high -level political violence observed in the past year.
