LAPD provided security at Harris after Trump deleted the details of the secret service

A specialized unit in the Los Angeles police department no longer provides the former vice-president Kamala Harris Security, according to a new report.

The officers of the Metropolitan Division of the LAPD, which is the group of special operations of the police service, intervened to ensure the security of President Donald Trump has drawn the security details of Harris in August, reported the New York Times.

But this protection ended on Saturday after the UNION of the LAPD Union, the Los Angeles Police Protective League. The union has described the arrangement of “nuts”, arguing that “taxpayers of the should not get supplies in the invoice of this ridicule”.

“We are pleased to announce that metro leaders assigned to the protection of the multimillionaire faulty presidential candidate are back on rue de la Rue,” the union’s board of directors said on a statement to Fox News Digital on Monday.

Meanwhile, the mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass, said that the use of LAPD resources to offer Harris protection was never a permanent solution.

“The plan was always to provide temporary support, and I thank LAPD for protected former vice-president Harris and always prioritize it for the security of all Angelenos,” Bass said in a statement at the New York Times.

The Bass office did not respond to several requests for comments from Fox News Digital.

Bass previously declared in a statement that Trump’s decision to revoke Harris’s security details was an “act of revenge” on a political opponent, and put Harris “in danger”, according to the New York Times.

The LAPD did not respond to several requests for comments from Fox News Digital.

The Los Angeles Times also reported on August 29 that California Highway Patrol was ensuring the safety of Harris, according to sources of application of the law. California Governor Gavin Newsom must approve such protection, according to the publication.

“Our office does not comment on the security arrangements,” Izzy Gardon, Newsom spokesperson said in a statement at Fox News Digital on Thursday.

The White House confirmed to Fox News Digital that Trump had shot Harris security details on August 29 and noted that vice-presidents were generally only offered for six months secret services after leaving his duties.

However, former president Joe Biden signed a prescription before leaving his duties which extended the protection of Harris secret services by an additional year.

CNN first reported that Trump had signed a memo drawing details from the security of Harris secret services. Harris spokesperson told Fox News Digital that no reason had been planned to eliminate protection.

The American secret services did not respond to a request for comments from Fox News Digital.

The Wall Street Journal reported in July that Harris’s husband, Doug Emhoff, had canceled his security details in July.

The former presidents and their spouses receive details on the security of the secret service for the rest of their lives unless they voluntarily undress, according to the Secret Service website.
