Although the results of the primary are unofficial, Mamdani won the victory and the other favorite of the race, former governor Andrew Cuomo, conceded.
Emhoff approved Mamdani in May in a video apparently filmed in Brooklyn Steel, a music site in New York, where Mamdani organized an event.
