JUXTAPOZ Magazine – Radio JUXTAPOZ, EP 164: Very bad, very sad, maybe the next birth in the world of Shyama Golden

“Very bad, very sad, perhaps the next birth.” It was a phrase that my parents say whenever something was outside my will and did not go exactly according to the plan, ” Shiama Golden I wrote about the topic of its new individual presentation of the same name Evening/in the morning In London. “It looks like a short phrase that embodies the entire human struggle, like sisyphus that pushes the rock to the top of the hill.” The painter -based painter has created a world as a world where he is a reincarnation and shock between generations and suffering (and the spirit of humor to deal with them), Sri Lankan novels, a personal journey through time and a journey of soul through ages. Golden told me that she wants to create works that spoke about “the life of the past because this framework challenges the basic idea, fixed history, and linear progress.” Thus it creates its own story, not the next birth, but this birth.

In this conversation from UNIBROW Radio PodcastShe spoke with Xama in Los Angeles before her trip to London, after her husband Paul Trillo showed me an incredible movie that she created with her from artificial intelligence, which he will show in a short form in the PM/AM but his work will continue as a longer work in the future. The show is similar to a journey by our collective creative directing: traditional drawing, and wooden masks created with craftsmen in Sri Lanka, which exceeds past centuries in addition to a short film that uses Amnesty International. It works throughout the ages, literally.
