Salena Zito, an experienced political journalist with more than 20 years of experience in the narration, tells her own story in his book, “Butler: The Untold Story of the Nar Assassinat of Donald Trump and the fight for the American heart”.
Zito’s novel, released on Tuesday, brought the readers back to July 13, 2024, when a young shooter sparked shots in the crowd of President Donald Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
“”I did not go down, “Zito told Fox News Digital in an exclusive interview before the press release.” There was this inner voice that said to me: “You have a job to do, continue to do it.” “”
When Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, started to pull towards Trump, Zito ended up in the secure perimeter of the secret services, right next to the stage where Trump pronounced his remarks.

“Time has these that occurs,” said Zito. “He does not remember them. It lives them. It is this interesting thing that happens. I see a sea of navy blue costumes that surround him immediately. Then, I hear the four seconds. I still did not go down.”

As a firearm owner, Zito immediately recognized the sound of firing. But as a journalist, she quickly started to remember the historic moment while it was taking place.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, Zito described the scene she saw from the first hand, which was filmed by the network of the network’s swimming pool and looked around the world.
A little more than eight minutes after Trump’s speech, Zito was standing in the “stamp” with his daughter, his son -in -law and his Trump campaign assistant, Michel Picard. It was Picard who finally brought Zito to the ground.
“Michel Picard makes me fall and is on me and covers me,” said Zito. “This young man did not have to do that. He will always be a hero in my heart. He is lying on the top of my daughter. My son -in -law has already shot my daughter.”

Zito said that even from this point of view, she could still see and hear the situation taking place while Trump was shouting for his shoes, someone called a doctor and a woman shouted.
“I had my recorder on my phone because I thought I was going to record the rally, his speech. I wanted to make sure I have the nuance. I always do that. I could see, and I could hear everything that was going on.”
She said Trump said, “USA”, from the ground while the crowd was starting to sing. When the secret services helped Trump on his feet, he shouted: “Fight! Fight! Fight”, Zito said that she had seen another side of Trump, who is revealed in his book.
The journalist, who is a Washington Journalist from the Washington Examination, is a special contributor to the Washington Post and was a columnist for the New York Post, said Trump should have called him seven times within 24 hours after the shooting.

Zito had to interview Trump before his rally in Butler, but this is the case with the presidential campaign schedules, the interview time continued to slip. Zito planned to fly with Trump in Bedminster, NJ, to interview him after the rally.
Trump recovered from his quasi-Assassination with a little more than an ear paste ball, thanks to the immigration board that he turned his head in front. One participant in the rally, the firefighter Corey Comperatore, was killed and two others were seriously injured by gunshots.
Comperatore protected his wife and daughters from shots, saving his family. Trump honored their family when he returned to Butler to finish the rally later that year.
“This book is for everyone,” Zito told Fox News Digital. “First of all, it was a witness to the story. And it is told in a way that is very conversational and told in a very real and authentic way. I tell exactly the story that it happened.”

“But it is also a book on understanding the reasons why the place and rooting are so important in American politics. There have been very few republicans or democrats who understood it. It is part of the experience of America, whatever happens, that there is a shining light, so that you understand people better.”
