Jocelyn Nungaray honored in the unanimous vote of the House after a brutal murder

The House of Representatives voted unanimously to commemorate a Texas girl who was killed last year.
Two illegal immigrants were accused of his murder.
The bill renames the National Wildlife Refuge of Anahuac in Texas as “Jocelyn Nungaray National Wildlife Refuge” in honor of the end of 12 years. The vote was 372 to 0.59 legislators not voting.

It is not uncommon for the members of the Congress to be lacking in controversial votes if they have other questions at hand. In this case, the bill to remember Nungaray was practically guaranteed to pass massively.
The bill was initially directed in the Senate earlier this year by Texas Republican Sens. John Cornyn and Ted Cruz.
A ceremony to rename the reserve took place initially in April, but the adoption of Monday evening legislation makes it permanent.

Now he should go to President Donald Trump, whose signature on legislation will make the renown official.
Nungaray was sexually assaulted and killed in North Houston, Texas, in June 2024, and found with his hands and ankles linked in a Bayou. Venezuelan nationals Franklin Jose Pena Ramos, 26, and Johan Jose Rangel Martinez, 21, are accused of his murder.

At the time, his murder highlighted the crisis of aggravation of borders in the United States, which the Republicans blamed the lax border of the former Biden administration.
The case of Nungaray was one of the multiple high -level murders involving illegal immigrants accused last year.
