The joint operations between China and Russia combined with threats from North Korea represent the largest threat to the World Order since the Second World War, said the Japanese defense ministry in a new document.

“The existing order of world peace is seriously disputed, and Japan is found in the most serious and complex post-war security environment,” said Defense Minister Gen Nakatani in the annual document. “International society has been in a new era of crisis because it has faced the greatest challenges since the end of the Second World War.”

The biggest threats in the world are centered in Indo-Pacific, where Japan is located, and should worsen in the years to come, he added.

And in the midst of the questions on the role that Japan would play if the war had broken out between the United States and China on Taiwan, the Minister called the United States “key pillar of our national security policy and the cornerstone of peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region”.
