Israel rejected a report supported by the United Nations who declared famine to Gaza, saying that it contained “blatant counterfeits”. An official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned that Jerusalem would put pressure on donor countries to reduce funding unless the report is withdrawn.
In a report of August 22, the integrated classification of the food security phase (IPC) said that famine has already taken place in the governorate of Gaza and should spread to Deir Al-Balah and Khan Younis by the end of September. The report indicates that around a third of the 2 million Gaza residents – around 641,000 people – could soon face catastrophic famine.
According to the IPC, 132,000 children under the age of 5 should suffer from acute malnutrition until 2026, including more than 41,000 serious cases. He said that more than 55,000 pregnant and breastfeeding women require urgent nutritional support.
Israel pushes the report to be made to measure “not sustained by claiming the famine of Gaza

The report blamed almost two years of war, the displacement of 1.9 million people, the collapse of local food production and severe restrictions for aid. He noted that even when food enters Gaza, a large part does not manage to reach civilians.
Israel categorically rejected the conclusions, the director general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Eden Bar Tal, told journalists that the IPC had committed “raw falseries” and manipulated its own evidence to declare famine.
Bar Tal said that the IPC had made 182 deaths to reach the 188 famine threshold. It accused the group of having violated its own rules using a measure of the prohibited malnutrition in Gaza, based on clinical samples which are prohibited and cherry investigations. He said that out of 15,749 children interviewed, the IPC only used 7,519, enough to push the results over famine levels.
“The IPC report is forged for political purposes. There is no doubt that the IPC has manipulated and ignored the data, breaks its own rules and hidden contradictory evidence,” said Bar Tal, saying that the report had been manufactured in order to “support Hamas’ famine campaign”.

Israel says that the UN deceives the world while Gaza Aid stole and turned away from civilians
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has published an official letter requiring the withdrawal of the report and warned that if it is not withdrawn, Israel urges the donor states to freeze the financing of the IPC “until professional credibility is restored”. He also distributed a PowerPoint presentation entitled “IPC fraud,” Who described the process as “shooting the arrow, then drawing the target”. A slide read: “The facts are clear: the IPC report is forged.”
The IPC did not respond to Fox News digital comments.
At a meeting of the Security Council on Wednesday, Dorothy Shea, the acting American ambassador to the UN, said that hunger was a real problem and a priority for the United States, but also challenged the IPC report.
“We can only solve problems of credibility and integrity. Unfortunately, the recent IPC report does not succeed in the test. One of the main authors of the report has a long assessment of bias against Israel, in particular by openly justifying the terrorist attacks of Houthi against questions of Israeli civil.

In response to Fox News Digital Questions, Stéphane Dujarric, the spokesman of the UN Secretary General, defended the IPC process and rejected Israel’s claims: “The data that the IPC has published on famine in Gaza is robust. It is scientific and it is technical,” said Dujarric. “IPC Famine Analysis uses a standard measure … examined carefully by an independent group of experts who confirmed that a famine takes place at the Governorat in Gaza.”
He said the IPC was based on data flows from the “recent and verified” United Nations Agency, notably WHO, UNICEF, UNRWA and WFP, while considering the Israeli coordinator for government activities in the territories (COGAT).
On the question of whether the Hamas Hamas has taken into account, Dujarric said that the report “illustrates the constraints that prevent humanitarian organizations from distributing help and soaking up people from obtaining the help they need”.

On Thursday, secretary general António Guterres said that “famine is no longer an imminent possibility – this is a current disaster. People are starving, families are torn apart by travel and despair,” Guterres told journalists before information from the Security Council.
