An Iranian previously expelled illegally living in the United States was arrested this week in Texas, federal prosecutors said.

Jamil Bahlouli was found in a house in Austin where the deportation agents tried to arrest him as part of a referral order in 2020 after jumping an appointment in an immigration office, said the Ministry of Justice.

When the authorities found Bahlouli at the door of his house, he “refused to be arrested and took a measure designed to prevent or hinder his deportation and departure in accordance with the last referral order by slamming the door of deportation agents”, according to court documents.
