The Iranian leaders called him for decades for “death to America” while working to quietly build the country’s nuclear program before President Donald Trump ordered strikes on a trio of nuclear installations and did not ensure a cease-fire between Iran and Israel.
“Yes, this will happen. Death to America will occur,” Iranian Supreme Chief Ali Khamenei said in 2022, the Middle East Media Research Institute reported at the time. “Some people say: by singing” death in America “, you bring the animosity of America to yourself. I say that it is not true. When America began its hostility towards Iran, no one had sang” death in America “.”
“Death To America”, or “Marg Bar Amreeka” in Farsi, is a slogan from the 1970s, reported the Associated Press.
The demonstrators sang the slogan in the midst of the Iranian revolution, when the country’s shah was overthrown in 1979 and the Iranian monarchy was abolished and replaced by its current government, the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The slogan remained an element of Iran’s opinions on the United States in the following decades, notably after the death of various Iranian military leaders and, as the United States sought to conclude nuclear agreements with the nation.

“The hatred and rage of the Muslim people are directed to America, the unfaithful satanic regime,” chanted the Iranians in 2007 before a speech by the president of the Irane of the time, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
“Saying” Death To America “is easy. We must express” Death to America “with action”, successor to Ahmadinejad, former Iranian president Hassan Rouhani, said in 2013.
Iranian legislators sang “death in America” while he was in Parliament in 2019, and again in 2020, after Trump ordered a strike that killed Iranian General Qassem Soleimani, while “Death To America” songs “also broke out on American soil after the Hamas war on Israel who started in 2023. Iran accepted the Complete Complete Action Plan with global powers such as the United States in 2015 which aimed to limit the Iranian nuclear program in exchange for American sanctions, the European Union and the European Union in the country. Trump withdrew from the JCPOA in 2018, arguing that it was weak and would not prevent Iran from building its nuclear program and rather restored sanctions against the country.
Iran Khamenei is launching a puffy attack on Trump after the Middle East visit
In the midst of the 2015 discussions on the JCPOA, Khamenei once again declared “Death To America” while bringing together the support of the agreement, reported the New York Post in March 2015.
“The sanctions must be lifted immediately,” Khamenei told crowds of people that year when he approved the agreement.
The crowd broke out in songs of “Death To America”, triggering Khamenei to answer: “Of course, yes, death to America, because America is the original source of this pressure”.
After the signing of the agreement in July 2015, Khamenei tried to argue that the slogan did not mean literal death for American citizens, but the death of American politicians.
“Your slogan” Death to America “and the cries of the Iranian nation have strong logical support behind them,” he told the Iranians in Tehran, according to the Associated Press. “Obviously, by” death in America “, we do not mean death for the American people. The American nation is like the rest of the nations. This means death for American politicians and its arrogance.”
Ayatollah, however, doubled in 2019 that “Death To America” noted the death of American leaders such as Trump.
“” Death in America “means death to Trump and John Bolton and Pompeo,” Khamenei said in 2019, according to the New York Times, referring to Trump National Security Advisor John Bolton, and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
“It means death for American leaders, who happen to be these people right now,” he added.

The slogan was accompanied by similar “deaths” on Israel and demonstrators burning American flags in the streets of Tehran while holding photos honoring Khamenei.

The slogan has recently been used since Israel launched pre -empty strikes on Iran on June 12 after months of nearest negotiations linked to the nuclear program of Iran and the question of the mountain that the Islamic Republic would have an imminently hand over a nuclear weapon. The United States did not actively participate in the strikes on June 12 and the following days, but warned Iran that the United States could get involved if Iran had not concluded a peace agreement.
“The American president threatens us,” Khamenei wrote on X of Trump on June 18. “With his absurd rhetoric, he demands that the Iranian people go to him. They should make threats to those who are afraid of being threatened. The Iranian nation is not frightened by such threats.”
“It is not wise to tell the Iranian nation to go. What should the Iranian nation go?” He continued. “We will never abandon ourselves in response to anyone’s attacks.”
The Iranians were seen in the streets of Tehran in June singing “death in Israel and America” before the American strikes Iranian nuclear installations.
Trump announced on Saturday evening in a Truth surprise social position that the United States had managed to carry out strikes on three Iranian nuclear installations, which, according to him, were “erased” and supported the country in a corner to conclude a peace agreement.
“Not time ago, the American army made massive precision strikes on the three main nuclear installations of the Iranian regime: Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan,” Trump said from the White House in a speech to the nation a few hours after the social announcement of the truth. “Everyone has heard these names for years while they were building this horribly destructive business. Our goal was the destruction of Iran’s nuclear enrichment capacity, and a stop of the nuclear threat posed by the godfather of the number one of the world. Tonight, I can point out to the world that strikes were a spectacular military success.”
Trump specifically quoted the decades of Iran from calling to the death of America in his speech to the nation after successful strikes on Saturday evening.
“For 40 years, Iran said, “Death in America. Died in Israel. They killed our people, breathtaking their arms, exploding their legs with bombs on the roadside, “said Trump on Saturday night from the White House.” It was their specialty. We have lost more than a thousand people and hundreds of thousands through the Middle East and the whole world died accordingly of their hatred in particular. “”
“I decided a long time ago that I would not let it happen. It would not continue,” he said.

On Monday evening, Iran and Israel concluded a cease-fire agreement, which Trump described as a huge success ending the “12-day war”.
Trump promises to answer with “full strength and could” American soldiers if Iran attacks America
“Assuming that everything works as it should be, what will do, I would like to congratulate the two countries, Israel and Iran, to have endurance, courage and intelligence to end, how should be called” 12-day war “. It was a war that could have continued for years and destroyed the whole Middle East, but it is not the case, and will never write it.

Tensions are still evident in the Middle East, while Israel and Iran accuse of violation of the ceasefire on Tuesday morning, with Trump urging them to lay down their weapons while triumphantly declaring that Iran’s nuclear capacities have been paralyzed. Trump pointed out to the media while traveling to a NATO summit in The Hague that it was “not satisfied” from Israel or Iran for doping tensions following the cease-fire agreement.

“I am not satisfied with Israel. You know, when I say, okay, now you have 12 hours, you do not go out in the first hour and place everything you have on them. So I am not satisfied with them. I am not satisfied with Iran either, but I am really unhappy if Israel is released this morning,” said Trump.
“We have essentially two countries that have been fighting for so long and so hard that they do not know what they are doing,” he added in inflamed comments highlighted by blasphemies.
