Iran’s nuclear capacities are crushed, but the desire for the regime for the bomb may persist

The status of the Iranian nuclear program remains uncertain, even after President Donald Trump said that American strikes on June 22 “have erased” Iran’s nuclear capacities.

Rafael Grossi, the chief of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), told CBS “Face The Nation” in an interview on Sunday that Iran’s capacities remain, but it is impossible to assess the total damage to the nuclear program, unless the inspectors are authorized, which Iranian officials have not authorized.

“It is clear that there have been serious damage, but these are not total damage, first of all. And secondly, Iran has the capacity there, industrial and technological capacities. So, if they wish, they will be able to start doing this,” said grip.

Grosi said Iran could have centrifuges running uranium enriched “in a few months”.
