Iran accused of assassination, removal of plots across Europe, North America

A joint statement published by the United States, the United Kingdom and a dozen other Western nations called on Iran’s attempts on Thursday to “kill, kidnap and harass” foreign citizens by working with criminal networks abroad.

The Western nations have stressed that the dissidents, citizens and Jewish journalists, as well as by representatives of the current and former government, were targeted by Iranian intelligence agents in the countries of Europe and North America in a direct violation of national sovereignty.

“We are united in our opposition to the attempts of the Iranian intelligence services to kill, kidnap and harass people in Europe and North America in clear violation of our sovereignty,” said the statement, also supported by Canada, Germany and France.

“We consider these types of attacks, whatever the target, as violations of our sovereignty,” added the declaration, published by the Iranian virtual embassy. “We are committed to working together to prevent these actions from occurring and we call on the Iranian authorities to immediately end such illegal activities in our respective territories.”

More than a dozen nations have condemned the actions of Iran as “unacceptable”, notably Albania, Austria, Belgium, Cheche, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Spain and Sweden.

The declaration, which was not only an international reprimand, was also an alert of citizens through the European and North American continents of hostile activities that Tehran that Tehran offers. Journalists and activists were targeted in the United States by Iranian murder projects for rental and plots of kidnapping for years, in particular following mass demonstrations in 2022 which broke out after the death of Mahsa Amini, who was killed following his arrest in Iran for having pretended his hijab.

Tehran has repeatedly denied his involvement in the plots of murder and kidnapping.
