The Democrats of Iowa come together behind a school superintendent who was arrested by ice according to allegations according to which he is in the country illegally this week, and they are led by a president of the School Board who played a key role in the White House of Obama.

After Ice arrested Ian Roberts, the superintendent of the public schools of the monks (DMPS) last week, the president of the school board Jackie Norris called on people to have a “radical empathy” while the case of Roberts takes place. Norris was previously chief of staff of the White House for the first lady of the time, Michelle Obama. Meanwhile, the Republicans of the State legislature also launch an investigation into how the board of directors chose Roberts in the first place.

On Friday, Norris argued Roberts in a statement in which she said that civil servants “did not have all the facts”.

“There are a lot of things we don’t know,” said Norris. “However, what we know is that Dr. Roberts is an integral part of our school community since he joined more than two years ago.”

“During his stay with our district, he presented himself in a large and small manner and pleaded for students and staff, and began to introduce concepts that will help us reinvent education for future generations,” she continued.

Norris said Roberts joined the school district in July 2023 after serving in various school districts across the United States for “over 20 years”. Norris was not the president of the school board when Roberts began, but she has been a member since 2021.

Meanwhile, the Republicans of the Iowa Legislative Assembly call for a wider survey to ensure that the appropriate hiring practices are followed through the State. The Iowa Chamber’s Government Surveillance Committee also sent a letter to the DMPS ordering it to preserve the documents related to the hiring of Roberts.

“I will not hesitate to introduce and adopt legislation in order to impose improved job protocols, increase the transparency of district operations and protect the resources allocated to our schools through the credits process,” said the representative of the Austin Harris state. “Iowa families deserve nothing less than a safe, legal and effective education system for their children.”

The DMPs did not immediately respond to a request for comments from Fox News Digital.

Ice alleges that Roberts is illegally in the country of Guyana. They say that he is not legally authorized to work in the United States and had a final dismissal order of a judge issued in May 2024.

Roberts was arrested after allegedly removed from the law application. Later, he abandoned his car in the woods, and Iowa State Patrol ended up finding it, according to a press release.

“This suspect was arrested in possession of a weapon loaded in a vehicle provided by the public schools of monks after smoking the application of federal laws,” said Sam Olson, director of the Ice Ero St. Paul.

“This should be alarm clock for our great work communities that our officers do every day to withdraw public security threats,” said Olson. “How this illegal extraterrestrial was hired without a work authorization, a final dismissal order and a charge of previous weapons is beyond understanding and should alarm the parents of this school district.”

The district said that Roberts had already made an I-9 to prove legal status, but that it had been led by a third party group and that it did not know a referral order, according to the Associated Press.

Roberts came to the United States with a student visa in 1999 and was accused of possession of weapons in 2020, according to ice cream.
