Interim Buffalo, the mayor of New York concedes to the state senator in the democratic primary

The acting mayor, Christopher Scanlon, of Buffalo, NY, did not succeed in the city’s democratic primary on Tuesday evening, losing the appointment to the senator of the Sean Ryan State.

Scanlon conceded the primary to Ryan, thanking his supporters and apologizing for “not doing it for you tonight”.

“It was a lot of work and the most humiliating experience of my life to have the type of support that the campaign has had so far,” said Scanlon.

Ryan, who has the approval of the County Democratic Party, said victory and is committed to uniting the city.

“I know that we have to unite Buffalo, not only as a democrats, but as a buffalo,” said Ryan.

Ryan said Buffalo Toronto public media That it was “so pleasantly surprised by the margin” of victory in the multi-candidates field.

The Associated Press called Ryan’s victory, which obtained 46.5% of the vote. Scanlon failed with 35.3% of the vote.

Scanlon asked for a full term after replacing the oldest mayor in Buffalo, Byron Brown, who resigned in October to run an off -track Paris agency.
