The funds come from a reconciliation bill signed by President Donald Trump last month, nicknamed the “Big, beautiful bill”.

According to the DHS, he provided the funding of the 287 (G) program, which promotes collaboration between immigration and the application of customs and local governments, in addition to 80,000 ice ownership beds.

“Go soon to Indiana: The Speedway Slammer. Today, we are announcing a new partnership with the state of Indiana to extend the detention space of 1,000 beds,” Kristi Noem, secretary to the Ministry of Internal Security, said in a statement. “Thank you to Governor Braun for his partnership in order to withdraw the worst from the worst in our country. If you are in America illegally, you could end up in the Slammer Speedway of Indiana. Avoid arrest and now deport the CBP Home application.”

The Trump administration continued deportation operations because it encourages people who are illegally in the country, but have no additional criminal record, to self-conform. The administration offers $ 1,000 and free trips outside the country if people are leaving themselves, which opens the door to the individual to return legally, according to the DHS.

The establishment used public funds at the start, but will also get money from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. It can contain 2,000 people, but should hold 4,000 in the future, and expulsion flights have already started at the end of last month.

“I am happy to announce that these flights outside the Alligator Alcatraz by DHS have started. The rate is increasing. We have already had a number of flights in recent days, we have had hundreds of illegals have been deleted by,” said Desantis at the time.

“Building a naked tent detention center on the hot tarmac in the middle of the Everglades and exhibiting immigrants imprisoned on the elements is a cruel and absurd proposal,” said Melissa Abdo, PHD, regional director of the National Parks Conservation Association Sun Coast, in a press release of July 1 in opposition to ease. “The intense heat, the humidity and the storms of the Everglades can be dangerous without appropriate precautions. The distant and lasting nature of this installation could leave people in danger very real, especially since the heat index of Florida rises from the mountains on the way and the season of the hurricanes intensifying.”
