The legal defense of the application of the law (LELDF), a pro-professional non-profit organization based in Virginia, published on Tuesday an alleging report on Tuesday that a liberal group focused on the reform of criminal justice called the Wren collective helped to guide and shape the offices of at least 40 progressive prosecutors through 22 states on their “policies legal “, according to the exclusive report,”
The report underlines the influence – direct and indirect – that the Wren collective would have had subsequent political and political prosecutors for certain district prosecutors, including at least 40 years, which alleges the relationship has maintained comfortable relations with the group, such as membership in weekly meetings to talk about the communication strategy, with specific professional advice or even the signature of a non -divulgation agreement DA professional relationship with the group.
The Wren collective is a for -profit organization founded in 2020 by Jessica Brand, a lawyer based in Texas who is executive director of the group. But the report in question alleges a certain level of influence exerted by the group which goes beyond its declared priorities.
Among other things, the report accuses the group of engaging in an “influenced breakdown operation”, in part by increasing the access and commitment that certain donors or the “well -connected” activists had with the actions of the district prosecutors in question, by arguing that it “demonstrates that these elected prosecutors are not shaped” on the part of “.
The LELDF report revealed that since 2015, around 100 progressive district prosecutors have been elected in the country across the country, with collective employees of Wren so -called “integrated” in at least 40 of the offices, based on documents from the researchers compiled via the requests for freedom of information and other public documents showing a comfortable relationship between the group and the liberal producers.
The report identified the “newborns” of the Wren – which Leldf defined as left -wing Das linked to the advice group – like the former San Francisco Da Chesa Boudin, the former Los Angeles Da George Gascon and the County of Travis, Texas, Da Jose Garza.

“Based on requests for public information (totaling more than 50,000 pages of e-mails and text messages), campaign financing files and tax documents, this study demonstrates (how) a handful of leftist social justice organizations, with important links with campaign donors, have an immense influence on these prosecutors through the Wren Collective Wren Council Service”, according to the report.

The report underlined an exchange of emails in particular which “explains everything” and shows the alleged comfortable links between the group and the services it can provide to prosecutors.
An e-mail sent in June 2020 by a collective lawyer from Wren to MultNomah County (Portland) Da-Élu Mike Schmidt and his political advisor included two model policies related to justice on the way of abolishing the deposit and reducing the prison populations that the group “wrote for the lawyers of Virginia Commonwealth”, as well as a long list of examples The incoming.

Brand defended the work of the Wren collective in a comment sent by email to Fox News on Monday when he asked questions about the report, while criticizing LELDF for publishing the report.

“Wren spent five years working with pride with prosecutors and police on policies that reduce crime and improve communities security. I have not seen the report, but Wren’s work is not a secret and they could have gone to our website, which shows what we are doing. Our team is also regularly cited in the main media on our work. LEDLF surely knows is a common practice – among the conservative and progressive organizations working with these offices – rather than the way to help the officers, “she said.

The lawyer for the county of the county of Loudoun Buta Biberaj (Loudoun.gov)
On crisis communications, the Wren collective would have helped shape the former county of Loudon, Virginia, the Commonwealth prosecutor, Buta Biberaj, the management of large -scale sexual assault on a student in a high school in Ashburn by a biological student. The case became a new national in 2021 when the girl’s father, Scott Smith, mocked against the school failure to protect his daughter at a meeting of the school board and was then seen in viral images drawn from the meeting by officials of the application of laws.
A courtyard of the short circuit launched Biberaj from an appeal case resulting from the arrest of Smith due to “concerns” on “impartiality” in September 2022, the Wren collective was underway to help Biberaj in the communication strategy shortly after, according to the documents included in the report.
“I hope you are well,” wrote a member of Wren collective staff in an e-mail on September 19, 2022, and sent directly to Biberaj, discovered the Leldf report. “We have seen the news around the Scott Smith affair and we wondered if you want a communication medium? Please let us know if there is something we can do to help you at this time.”
Biberaj accepted, according to the report, and set up a time to speak with the group. The prosecutor, whose campaign was supported by a CAP funded by Liberal donor George Soros lost his re -election effort in 2023 to the Republican Bob Anderson.

In another jurisdiction, the LELDF report found that the County Bureau of Travis, Texas, the prosecutor’s prosecutor Jose Garza had concluded a non-disclosure agreement with the Jessica brand of the Wren collective in 2022, according to a copy of the document examined by Fox Digital and included in the report.
Garza is another DA supported by Soros who has been subjected several times to conservatives and police for alleged crime policies, including an alleged “war against the cops” who struck a fever field last year when an Austin officer was sentenced to two years in prison after having fatally pulled a round in 2019.
“This document is executed between the Collective Wren and the District Prosecutor’s Office of Travis County. The Wren Collective, an organization sponsored by the Bureau of the County District of Travis to provide support for policies and communications for the office for a period of one year”, replaces the document, which was signed by the brand and one of Garza’s brand.
“Any information or material involved in the professional engagement between these parties is confidential and cannot be disclosed by Wren to a third party without the authorization of the office. Wren agrees to keep all the documents provided by the secure office. Wren also recognizes that, as consultant to the office, he is governed by the same rules of ethical and professional responsibility as the office,” continued the NDA.
Later that year, Brand would have led Garza’s preparation for a CNN interview, according to email files reported in the report.

The Wren collective has also played a role in the campaigns of certain progressive prosecutors and their Allied political action committees, which are often responsible for collecting funds and contacting donors to request, directly or indirectly, large campaign contributions on behalf of certain campaigns.
The report alleys that the group is also a campaign consultant for prosecutors and their related PACs, including to help candidates for “public and media communications”, such as press releases, praise and interviews.

The report concludes that many newly created DAS enter their green roles and need advice when Wren employees lend their expertise – but the advice is more than simple suggestions.
“These neophytes – who have never been prosecutors or directed an organization before winning their races – turn to outdoor groups to obtain advice, including many of the same groups that have financed their campaigns,” said the report.
