First on Fox: House Republicans advance the legislation to stiffen sanctions for people recognized as guilty of aggression or stack of immigration and customs’ application (ICE) agents, degenerating the partisan battle against illegal immigration and the application of crime.
The representative Ashley Hinson, R -Iwa, presented the “Protect and Respect Ice Act”, supported by the representatives Brad Knott, RN.C., and Diana Harshbarger, R-Tenn. The measure would double the maximum prison sentence and the fines for having attacked, resisted or hindered an ice agent or an employee.
The Ministry of Internal Security (DHS) reported in July that ice officials had increased 830% of attacks between the end of January and mid-July compared to the same period in 2024.

A spokesperson for Hinson told Fox News Digital that the bill was aimed at detering violence by anti-ice demonstrators targeting federal agents.
Hinson equaled the wave of attacks to progressive activists.
“Instead of standing with the police, the left-handed left sides with dangerous illegal extraterrestrials and even want to strip the ice agents of the equipment that assure them. It is unacceptable,” she told Fox News Digital.
