New York Governor Kathy Hochul promised to “fight fire with fire” in the midst of republican efforts to promulgate Rediscussing in Texas on Monday, condemning this decision even by promising to continue it itself.

Hochul welcomed the Democrats of Texas who fled their state in order to block a remiscover vote on Monday. The New York Democrat argued that President Donald Trump and the Republicans are engaged in a “legal insurrection” to overthrow the next elections in 2026, leaving the Democrats without “choice” as to embrace the same tactics.

“What Texas and Republican States do to Donald Trump, I said, is nothing less than a legal insurrection against our Capitol,” said Hochul. “Legal significance that they use the legal process. This does not mean that it is legal, and it must be stopped.”

“If the Republicans are ready to rewrite these rules to give themselves an advantage, then they do not give us the choice. We have to make the same,” she continued. “Everything is right in love and war. This is why I explore, with our leaders, each option to redraw our lines of the Congress of the State as soon as possible.”

Hochul continued by saying that the legislative leaders of New York State had told him that they were on board any redistribution plan.

New York and Illinois both welcome the Democrats of Texas who have disappeared from the state’s legislature in order to prevent the Republicans from having a quorum necessary to adopt their redistribution plan.

Dozens of representatives of the Democratic State of Texas arrived in Chicago and New York on Sunday evening to block the vote. Shortly after Abbott published his declaration, the Texas House Democratic Caucus published a simple answer, writing: “Come and take it”.

The press release also described the districts offered by the Republicans, which would potentially ensure five new US House GOP seats in the mid-term elections next year, as a “racist redistribution program of the decade”.

Abbott criticized the dramatic departure of the Democrats, saying that “real Texans do not flee a fight”.

The withdrawal of his functions is not the only threat to the legislators on the run, because Abbott warned that “to request funds to escape the fines they will undergo under house rules” is potentially a crime.

“Any democrat who” requests, accepts or agrees to accept “such funds to help violate legislative functions or for voting purposes violated corruption laws, “ He wrote, quoting the Criminal Code of Texas. He added that anyone “offers, confers or agrees to confer” money to flight legislators could also face accusations.
