Hochul criticized the operation, saying that “parents of at least a dozen children are likely to return from school to an empty house”.

The spokesman underlined another recent work operation in a marijuana establishment in the county of Ventura, California, during which more than 300 illegal foreigners were arrested and 14 children were saved from “potential forced work, exploitation and trafficking”.

The children rescued on the farm were from Mexico and Honduras.

Fox News Digital contacted Hochul’s office and the nutrition bar confectioners to comment but did not immediately receive a response.
