Former vice-president Kamala Harris detailed the performance of the debate of his running mate Tim Walz in his new book and told a confrontation with then-Sen. JD Vance, who finally left her disappointed.

Harris writes in her new book, “107 Days”, that she needed the Governor of Minnesota to be the “closest” on October 1, 2024, since she would not have another opportunity to debate Trump. But during the debate, she turned to her husband with Frustration.

“When Tim fell in love and started to nod his head and smile at JD’s false Bipartisians, I greeted in Doug,” What’s going on? “” Wrote Harris, explaining how she thought that Walz had been fooled by the attitude “Aw-Shucks” with sweet ways of vance.

“I said on the television screen:” You are not there to make friends with the guy who attacks your running mate. “”

Harris, who deplored that there is “more conduct on Tim’s debate that he should have been,” said that being “closer” and debating on such a large scale was “not a comfortable role” for Walz.

“He had worried from the start that he was not a good debateur,” Harris wrote. “I had reduced his concerns. He was so fast and spoused in front of the crowd during our gatherings, I thought he would bring these qualities to the podium.”

Harris described Vance as “Lord of Form” and said that he “complained in a fascinating way”, as well as more criticism from Walz.

“Tim fell into a model of defense of his record as governor,” wrote Harris. “Then he groped his answer when the predictable moderator asked why he claimed to be in Hong Kong during demonstrations of democracy in Tiananmen Square.”

“Tim was about to teach in China this summer, but had not yet left the United States on the date of the massacre. Instead of simply declaring that he had mixed his dates, but that being in China during a period of human rights oppression had deeply influenced him, he spoke of bicycle in Nebraska.”

Harris mentioned a sketch “Saturday Night Live” after the debate that represented Harris and her husband Doug to look at the debate and spit wine in shock. Harris wrote that even if she didn’t really spit wine while looking at, “it was otherwise strange in her portrait of our evening.”

“Tim felt bad that he hadn’t done better,” wrote Harris.

“I reassured him that the elections would not be won or lost because of this debate, and in fact, it had a negligible effect on our survey. By choosing Tim, I thought that as a second mandate governor and twelve years, he would know what he got. Author, how can someone?”

Harris wrote that she had encouraged Walz to be “resilient” during the campaign and suggested that he had struggled with the “unjust” attacks against his file and that he wreaked havoc on his family.

“For the candidate, the family which is your source of strength can become your weakness in a presidential campaign,” wrote Harris, adding that Tim was “indignant by injustice”.

“When I was a newly elected DA, an aged gentleman from Atlanta moved me away with a little advice:” Baby, you’re sure and don’t make him too easy “, wrote Harris. “He knew it was not the case. And the more you get into the political food chain, the more difficult it becomes. It is not a distinguished profession. You have to be ready to fight.”

Harris also detailed in her book the decision -making process she had used to finally choose Walz rather than the governor of Pennsylvania, Josh Shapiro, the Senator of Arizona Mark Kelly and the former transport secretary Pete Buttigieg.

Harris noted that his superior staff “firmly favored Tim” and that his godson, as well as his sister and his brother-in-law, also preferred Walz.

“Doug and I went back and forth,” wrote Harris. “He had known Josh longer and leaned in this way. It was always going to have to be my decision. I told my staff and my family that I didn’t want any more contribution, and I went to do something practical: I made a tasty friction and seasoned a roast pork. As I went to bed, I decided to Walz.”
