Hamas transfers deceased hostage’s coffin to Red Cross officials in Gaza

The coffin of a deceased hostage has been transferred from Hamas to the Red Cross, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Monday.

The coffin is being transferred to the Red Cross and is on its way to Israeli troops in Gaza, according to the Israeli military.

“Hamas is required to respect the agreement and take the necessary measures to return all hostages,” the Israeli military said on X.

Earlier on Monday, it was announced that the remains of Nepalese student Bipin Joshi, held hostage in Gaza, were being flown from Israel to his hometown of Bhimdattanagar.

Hamas has now returned the remains of almost half of the 28 hostages who died in Gaza, a key step in the ceasefire process in force for a week and intended to end two years of war.
