Alina Habba pointed out on Thursday that she did not plan to leave her role as a temporary American lawyer for New Jersey, announcing that it “does not curl up” to put pressure on after the federal judges voted against the extension of her mandate.

Habba, a former lawyer for the personal defense of President Donald Trump, wrote in an online statement that she was appointed the American lawyer “acting”, a passage from her previous post title.

“Donald J. Trump is the 47th president. Pam Bondi is the Attorney General. And I am now the acting United States prosecutor from the New Jersey district,” Habba wrote. “I do not curl up to put pressure. I do not respond to politics. It is a fight for justice. And I am absolutely.”

A spokesman for the Ministry of Justice (DoJ) told Fox News Digital that Habba was now the acting American lawyer, rather than the “temporary” position that she previously occupied.

The maneuvers of Trump and the Attorney General Pam Bondi to keep Habba as the main federal prosecutor of New Jersey are governed by a set of arcanic federal vacancy laws.

These same laws also gave the judges of the district court of New Jersey the power to vote on the advisability of extending Habba’s mandate to 120 days as an American interim prosecutor or to replace it. In a rare decision, they chose to replace it with N ° 2 of Habba, Desiree Grace, but Bondi quickly dismissed Grace, leaving the question of which would play the role.

The DoJ said Habba’s mandate as an acting American “American” lawyer expires on Friday. Fox News Digital learned that Habba resigned before this expiration day and that it was renamed as an acting American lawyer, which has a 210 -day term limit.

According to the appointment of the judges, Grace would take over on Saturday, but it is not clear if the voting of the judges is now valid given the changes in Habba’s work, and it is possible that legal confusion can lead to a judicial struggle.

Grace, career prosecutor at the office of the American lawyer since 2016, wrote in an article Linkedin after being dismissed that “was the honor of a life to represent the United States and serve the inhabitants of New Jersey” and that she planned to be sworn on Saturday.

“Yesterday, the judges of the district of the district of New Jersey selected me to serve as a prosecutor of the United States for the district of New Jersey,” wrote Grace. “It will always be the greatest honor that they have selected me in merit, and I am ready to follow this order and start to serve in accordance with the law.”

Trump also appointed Habba to play the full four -year role as an American permanent lawyer, but this position requires the approval of the Senate and Habba has no clear route to confirmation.

The two Democratic Senators of New Jersey, Meaning. Cory Booker and Andy Kim are currently organizing his appointment by the tradition of the “Blue Slip” of the Senate, and a person familiar with the case said that the Trump administration had not submitted any equipment for the Senate for verifying Habba’s appointment in any case.

Booker said in a statement after the dismissal of thanks that the Trump administration had violated the law.

“The dismissal of a career civil servant, legally appointed by the Court, is another blatant attempt to intimidate anyone who does not agree with them and undergoing judicial independence,” wrote Booker on social networks. “This administration may not like the law, but they are not above.”
