A private prison that closed more than a decade ago – and was obsolete by a law in 2024 prohibiting penitentiaries in the non -governmental state – may be the next on the list of ICEs.

The deceased correctional establishment of meadows in Appleton, near the southern Dakota line, is being studied, according to documents reported by Minnesota public radio news.

An Appleton official said to the point of sale that his city was not in communication with the ice at the moment, but that the owner of the prison – who operated it until 2010 – is looking for a federal contract.

Fox News Digital contacted Walz – An ardent opponent of the Immigration Framework for President Donald Trump during presidential scans in 2024 – for comments – but did not hear at the time of the press.

In addition to the potential minnesota prison, several other potential locations appeared on a map organized by the Washington Post who have geotagated current and future potential installations – including the Alligator Alcatraz in Ochopee, Florida, which is currently in limbo due to the decision of a judge appointed by Obama.

Another private prison that currently holds ice prisoners among its detainees is also one of the largest penitentiaries of this type in the world.

The RCDC or the County County Center of Reeves in Pecos, Texas, has a capacity of 3,700 beds, overall.

Still in Texas, the documents examined by the position included an installation nicknamed “Brownsville Family” near the city of the border region, which would have a capacity of 3,500 people.

Federals are already using Bliss in El Paso for immigration detention. The decision to reuse part of the historical installation rapped the local ACLU chapter, which compared ICE’s behavior to when the former president Franklin Roosevelt used similar sites to intervene to Japanese Americans.

In California City, California. – Outside Bakersfield – The plans are already underway to host ice prisoners in another former private prison.

Corecivic, the same seller as the Minnesota prison of Walz, concluded an agreement with the federals in a different blue condition to reuse its 2,560 installations, according to the Los Angeles Times.

California Governor Gavin Newsom opposed private prisons, and a ban he signed in 2019 was canceled at the last moment by a federal court which deemed him unconstitutional if he was applied to federal respects, the newspaper reported.
