GOP REP. Present that Bill prevents sanctuary states from “playing with American lives”

Exclusive: The Republican representative of Illinois, Mary Miller, criticism of the Democratic Governor JB Pritzker, presents a bill to repress the States of the sanctuary “Playing with American life” by allowing illegal immigrants to obtain commercial driver’s licenses.

In a press release sent to Fox News Digital, Miller’s Office said that the bill, entitled Safe Driving Law Act, will be addressed to the 19 states of the sanctuary creating an “extreme risk level for all those on the road” by allowing illegal to obtain both individual driving licenses and commercial driving licenses (CDLS).

If it is adopted, the bill would retain the funds from the national performance concession programs of the highway and surface transport of states which grant driving licenses for illegal immigrants or do not share information on criminal foreigners with the federal government.

States which do not comply with the law by the year 2027, which begins in October 2026, will hold 50% of the financing of the two programs selected for the whole financial year and for any following year that the State remains in non-compliance.

Diana Crofts-Pelayo, spokesperson for Governor Gavin Newsom, responded to Miller’s bill saying to Fox News Digital: “This is a witch hunt based on states against states that follow federal law”.

In addition to repressing states issuing illegal licenses, Miller’s bill would also penalize states that prohibit or prevent local government entities or states from collecting and sending or receiving information on the application of immigration from the Ministry of Homeland Security.

The bill also stipulates that the Secretaries of Transport and Internal Security maintain a database accessible to the public of the compliance or non-compliance of each State to the law.

Miller criticized the leaders of his own state in particular, telling Fox News Digital that “the States of the Sanctuary as Illinois play with American lives by distributing driving licenses and CDLs to illegal foreigners”.

“It is a dangerous and irresponsible policy that puts innocent Americans in serious danger,” she said, adding: “My bill will ensure that these states comply or risk losing federal funds.”

Fox News Digital contacted the Pritzker office as well as the office of the governor of New York Kathy Hochul to comment but did not immediately receive an answer.
