According to an annual annual survey of summer, almost two thirds of the Americans support an increased commitment to international affairs of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Institute.

The investigation, conducted by the Beacon Research survey companies and Shaw & Company Research, marks the third year that the Ronald Reagan Institute conducted a summer investigation to ask the Americans to attit their attitudes towards foreign policy. He revealed that 64% of Americans generally promote the United States playing a leadership role in international affairs, which has increased by more than 20% since 2023.

The tendency of the Americans leaning against international engagement, as opposed to isolationism, experienced growing support in both parties – even the America First Maga wing of the Republican Party, which opens the way with a support of 73% to greater international involvement, according to the new survey. Meanwhile, 69% of Republicans support the idea, as well as 65% of Democrats, revealed the survey.

The investigation was published less than a day after the Trump administration ordered a massive surprise strike on Iranian nuclear sites in a decision designed to paralyze Iran’s nuclear weapons infrastructure. About 73% of voters registered in a recent Fox News national survey said they thought Iran was a real security threat to the United States

“Americans are not withdrawing from the world,” said the investigation. “They gather around a foreign policy based on peace by force, strong alliances and morality in foreign policy.”

According to the summer survey, which was carried out before the recent Israeli air strikes on Iran, 45% of those questioned declared that they would support Israel leading targeted air strikes against Iranian nuclear installations if diplomatic efforts between the United States and Iran have. Meanwhile, 37% said they had opposed Israeli air strikes, while 18% said they were not sure.

Partisan affiliation, although fewer factors when respondents in the survey were generally invited to direct whether the United States should lead on the international scene, seemed to play a more important role in opinions on Iran’s commitment. Sixty percent of the Republicans said they support the Israeli air strikes, but this support fell to 35% among the self -employed and 32% for the Democrats.

Despite the previous media noting that the Trump administration is open to allowing Iran to continue its uranium enrichment program, potentially allowing the development of Iranian nuclear weapons, President Donald Trump has taken a hard position on the issue, stating several times that it would not allow the country to develop nuclear weapons. In addition to attitudes with regard to American leadership in global affairs around the world, the Ronald Reagan Institute’s annual investigation also covers other questions related to foreign policy concerning human rights, trade, defense spending and more.

A question aimed to assess an appetite for “territorial expansion”. President Donald Trump has repeatedly expressed his interest in acquiring strategic assets such as Greenland and the Panama Canal, while potentially floated control of the Gaza Strip in the midst of continuous problems in the region with terrorism.

The survey revealed that 55% of Americans supported the pursuit of the acquisition of the Panama Canal, while 47% supported the decision to acquire Greenland.

However, there is also a serious distinction between Republicans and Democrats on this issue, most democrats have opposed and the majority of Republicans in favor of territorial expansion. Regarding the Gaza Strip, only 33% of survey respondents said they were in favor of such a decision, including 24% of Democrats and 47% of Republicans.
