First on Fox: A group of room republicans asks how the United States is ready to protect its own interior assets in the event of a potential attack against the fatherland.
“We write to inquire about the American Department of Defense (DOD) and the Ministry of Internal Security (DHS) on the current state of drone attacks for our military installations, our government buildings, our embassies and our consulates, both national and abroad,” wrote the legislators in a letter.
“Current conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East have shown that large-scale and highly coordinated attacks can be very effective if the defender lacks adequate counter-grounds.”

The letter was sent late Thursday, a few days after Israel and Iran declared a ceasefire according to the days of reception of the attacks within the borders of the other.
Just before President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire, the Department of Internal Security (DHS) warned that the Middle East conflict “caused an increased threat environment in the United States”.
House legislators will be informed behind closedy on the situation with Iran at 9 a.m. Friday.
Since September 11, our nation has not undergone a major coordinated attack on our own soil. Although the government has done a good job to prevent an attack as on September 11 from reproducing, we want to make sure that we are preparing for a new paradigm in which relatively cheap drones can quickly and effectively annihilate the basic military and government infrastructure, “the legislators wrote on Thursday.

“While the projection of American threats around the world is strong among all the branches of the army, we must be prepared for a new paradigm of secret, but potentially disastrous threats, for our main military interests, including our nuclear triad in the fatherland.”
The letter is led by representative Mike Carey, R-Ohio.
The legislators ask the Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and the Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem if the counter-ground technology is taken into account in Trump’s plans for a Dome Dome Defense System in the United States

They also asked if there was “a concern of all kinds of accumulation of armed drones which already takes place in the United States from drones which could have been introduced as a smuggling due to the open border policies of the old administration”.

Noem and Hegseth were also interviewed to find out if they “aware or actively work to dissuade potential threats posed by land belonging abroad near military sites and critical infrastructure in the United States which could be a launch point for a mass drone attack as we saw in Russia by Ukrainian forces.”.
