EXCLUSIVE: President Mike Johnson, R-La., Accuses the chief of the minorities of the Senate Chuck Schumer, Dn.y., of refusing to vote to end the government closed in Kowtow at his left base.

Johnson told Fox News Digital in an interview Sit-Down that the Democrats’ refusal to move on their current position appeared during a one hour call with President Donald Trump on Wednesday afternoon.

“(Trump is) very embarrassed by this, that Chuck Schumer would do this, the Democrats would do it, because we did not do it,” said the republican of the top house.

He noted that the Democrats had voted on a measure similar to what the Republicans propose 13 times under former President Joe Biden.

“And even when the Republicans were in the minority, we did the right thing to keep the government open. And we fully expected Schumer to do it again, as he always did, but not this time,” said Johnson.

“It is a selfish political calculation that he has made, that he must prove to the far left that he will fight Trump or something. So we talked about our frustration with that.”

He said Trump seemed “happy” that the Republicans remain unified in their federal financing position, but were concerned with the effects of prolonged closure on daily Americans.

“But the reason we are happy is because we know that we are doing the right thing for the American people,” said Johnson. “And Chuck Schumer and the Democrats show that they are willing to inflict this pain on the people on their own political ends. And I think it is a difficult thing for them to overcome.”

He said of a meeting between the leaders of the Congress and Trump who performed on Monday: “I did my best in the White House, and he is not in a mood to have a real discussion on these questions. So we are where we are.”

The Democrats of the Senate have now rejected a plan led by the GOP to finance the federal agencies until November 21 three times.

The measure is called continuous resolution (CR) and aims to buy more time from the negotiators of the Chamber and the Senate to conclude an agreement on the federal financing priorities for the 2026.

The CR would keep the current federal financing levels almost stable while adding an additional $ 88 million in security expenditure for legislators, the White House and the Judicial Branch.

Democrats, furious to be widely sidelined in funding discussions, said they would not accept any bill which does not also extend the Obamacare tax subsidies which were improved during the Pandemic COVID-19. These improved subsidies must expire at the end of this year.

But Johnson, who described Obamacare’s subsidies a “end -of -year problem”, argued that the bill was a simple extension of federal funding, leaving Republicans without realistic route for concessions.

“If it was not clean and simple, if I had loaded it with a bunch of republican partisan priorities, then there would be something to negotiate. I could remove these things and offer it again. I sent it without attacking anything,” he said.

“It is literally that gives us time to finish the credits process, which was in progress in a bipartite way. So I have nothing to give, I can give nothing. And Chuck Schumer made counter-demandes and scandalous proposals that he is the one who has to return to his senses.”

He referred to the counter-proposal of Democrats for a CR, which would have repealed Medicaid reforms made in a large and beautiful bill of republicans, while restoring funding for NPR and PBS which was reduced by the Trump administration earlier this year.

Fox News Digital contacted Schumer’s office for an answer but did not hear at the time of the press.
