German customs authorities recently made a creeping discovery when they found around 1,500 young Tarentulas hidden in a spongake box expedition.
The package, which had arrived at German Airport in Cologne Bonn three weeks ago from Vietnam, weighed more than 15 pounds and had a notable smell that changed the managers, according to a press release from the Cologne customs office.
“My colleagues at the airport are regularly surprised by the contents of prohibited packages from around the world, but the fact that they have found around 1,500 small plastic containers containing young Tarentulas in this package left the most experienced among them speechless,” said Jens Ahland, spokesperson for the Calogne Customs Office, in a statement.
