JERUSALEM — As negotiations continue in Egypt over the U.S. road map for peace, Fox News Digital has obtained video from the U.S.-based Center for Peace Communications (CPC) revealing that anti-Hamas militias have endorsed President Donald Trump’s peace plan to end the war in Gaza and secure the release of Israeli hostages.
It comes amid reports of heavy fighting last week between an anti-Hamas clan and terrorists from the jihadist Hamas movement in a neighborhood of Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip, which could mark a radical change in local governance in the war-ravaged area.

The anti-Hamas militias’ full support for Trump’s plan could potentially spell more trouble for the terrorist movement that has ruled Gaza with an iron fist for 17 years.
Three of the anti-Hamas militias publicly supported Trump’s Gaza peace plan, according to the CPC video. Yasser Abu Shabab, leader of the Popular Forces militia in Rafah, said: “We see President Trump’s plan as a path to end the bloodshed and bring peace to the Middle East. »

Ashraf Al-Mansi, leader of the Northern Popular Forces, said: “We, in the People’s Army, Northern Forces in the Gaza Strip, express our sincere thanks and appreciation to US President Donald Trump. »
Rami Hillis, the head of the Popular Defense Forces, said his organization and the honorable clans of the Gaza Strip “will exert all our efforts and capabilities to ensure the success of this proposal.” Two years ago, on October 7, the Hamas terrorist movement invaded Israel and massacred approximately 1,200 people, including more than 40 American citizens.

“This is the first time that anti-Hamas militias have demonstrated on the ground their ability to challenge Hamas in open combat and expel it from their areas. We have seen minor clashes before, but this appears to mark a major escalation,” said Michael Nahum of the CPC.
The CCP, in collaboration with an American news organization, the Free Press, published images on on Friday’s deadly clashes which reportedly resulted in the death of 20 Hamas terrorists, including a commander.

According to the CCP, Hamas’ infamous “Sahm Unit,” which is “known for brutally suppressing dissenting voices from Gaza, traveled to Khan Younis” with the aim of arresting local Palestinians and “transferring them to a hospital for interrogation and possible execution.”
On the same day as the clashes, the Israel Defense Forces revealed that Hamas had built sophisticated terror tunnels on the grounds of two hospitals – the Jordanian Field Hospital and Hamad Hospital – in the Gaza Strip. The tunnel adjacent to the Jordanian hospital contained a missile production workshop. The use of hospitals and medical facilities as weapons zones by Hamas is considered a war crime under the Geneva Convention.

Hamas claims to have entered Khan Younis to arrest Palestinians who collaborate with Israel. The al-Mujaida clan in southern Gaza resisted Hamas’ assault on around fifty Hamas terrorists aboard five vans armed to the teeth, including with a rocket-propelled grenade launcher. Hamas is said to have murdered five members of the large al-Mujaida family.

Anti-Hamas militias reportedly received support from Israel. Nahum said they are multiplying and there are now four and probably up to ten militias in the Gaza Strip. “For the first time in a generation, we could actually see the end of Hamas rule in Gaza,” Nahum said.
According to some estimates, there are around 20,000 Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip.
