Israel said the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) was carrying many activists, but no help.

The flotilla, which was made up of 40 ships, was intercepted Thursday in Yom Kippour, the most holy day on the Jewish calendar.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry has published a video featuring the Israeli police spokesman Dean Elsdunne, walking in what he said to be one of the largest ships in the flotilla and showing that he was empty.

“When we and several other countries have offered them to take this aid and bring it to the Gazans – we could facilitate his arrival safely – they rejected him, and now we know why: because it was never a question of providing assistance to the Gazans, but it was the front page of the newspapers and the following of the social media,” said Elsenne in the video when he traveled the Vessel vestigel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu congratulated the interception and said that the members of the Israeli navy who did it in the “most professional and effective way”. He also declared that their actions prevented the entry of dozens of ships into a war zone.

The GSF maintains that its ships transported aid, including baby’s formula, food and medicine. In response to a request for digital comments from Fox News, GSF said that he would publish photos and videos of the help of Instagram and Telegram.

The organization called for the interception of its “illegal” fleet and said that the participants had been “kidnapped” and not released.

“After the Israeli occupation of naval forces, ships illegally intercepted Flotilla Sumud – a peaceful and non -violent convoy transporting food, baby formula, medicines and volunteers from 47 countries in Gaza – hundreds of participants were removed and would have taken aboard the Naval ship,” ” GSF said in a press release.

“Intercepting humanitarian ships in international waters is a war crime; denying the legal adviser and hiding the fate of these compounds seized this crime,” added the group.

However, Israel said four Italian flotilla Italian citizens had been expelled while the other deportations are under treatment.

“Israel wants to end this procedure as quickly as possible,” said the ministry. “Like Israel, Italy, Greece and Latin Jerusalem Latin patriarchy have declared it over and over again, any help that these boats could have carried, as little as it was, could have been peacefully transferred to Gaza. It was only a provocation.”

The activists of the flotilla that have since been detained are the defender of the Greta Thunberg and Mandla Mandela climate, who is the grandson of Nelson Mandela.

It will not be the first time that Thunberg has been expelled from Israel. It has already been arrested by the Israeli authorities in June after participating in a separate flotilla based on Gaza and was then returned to Sweden on a flight via France.

At the time, she chose to be expelled while other activists refused. Thunberg told lawyers with Adalah, a legal center for the rights of Arab minorities in Israel, that she could do “more good outside of Israel” and that refuse to leave Israel’s times have reported. Adalah now represents participants in the GSF.

Brian Cox, auxiliary professor at the Cornell Law School and the retired lawyer of the American army, rejected those who argued that the interception of the flotilla was illegal.

“International law provides very detailed rules concerning the conduct of a naval blockade and the prohibition of ships trying to violate a blockade. The evidence available indicate that Israel followed these legal obligations towards the letter during the prohibition of the Flotilla Global Sumud,” said Cox News Digital.

In a thread on X, Cox pushed against the former British diplomat Carig Murray, who said that Israel had no jurisdiction.

Cox said it didn’t matter if the fleet was on the high seas and not at less than 12 naval miles from Israel.

“The ships are likely to capture neutral waters outside if they raped or try to violate a blockade”, ” Cox wrote, Citing the San Remo manual on international law applicable to armed conflicts at sea. He also rejected the idea that the blockade in question should be temporary, claiming that the manual did not have a provision requiring “in the short term”.

In response, Murray pushed backSaying that the manual is “useful as a guide to customary international law as it is 30 years ago, but is not more than that”.
