Gavin Newsom denies the policies of the DEM sanctuary to blame for the overvoltage of crime

In the wake of a customs officer and the protection of American borders (CBP) who claim to be shot dead by two illegal criminal immigrants earlier this month, experts draw attention to the way in which the sanctuaries sheltering legislators are directly responsible for the increase in crime and violence in the courts managed by democrats.

The office of the governor of California Gavin Newsom, however, rejected the idea that sanctuary policies are to be blamed, a spokesman qualifying him as “false news” and an attempted Trump administration to justify “their cruel and militarist actions”.

This occurs after two illegal immigrants – Miguel Francisco Mora Nunez and Cristian Aybar Berroa – were arrested in connection with a CBP officer on leave in a New York park. According to the Ministry of Internal Security (DHS), the two illegals have long criminal history and had ice prisoners against them who had been ignored by New York officials.

Last week, the Ministry of Justice Trump announced that it was pursuing New York on its longtime policies of the sanctuary, which, according to DHS, allowed the shooting. The trial, filed before a New York Federal Court, appoints the mayor of New York, Eric Adams, and several other officials of the city as defendants. The trial says that the city has promulgated policies in order to hinder the ability of the federal government to enforce immigration laws.

Joe Borelli, a former member of the New York Municipal Council, told Fox News Digital that sanctuary policies have made many major American cities “obviously” less safe.

“We have lived about a decade of this” sanctuary city “experience in the cities led by Democrats, and after all this time, we can now definitively say that it was a clear loss. And it is polite,” said Borelli.

“In truth, he drained the chests of American cities and states and clearly made our neighborhoods less safe, in particular those who house our communities of legal immigrants,” he added.

Andrew Arthur, former immigration judge and politics expert at the Center for Immigration Studies, told Fox News Digital that the continuous crime of people like the two suspects in New York is “the direct result of sanctuary policies”.

He said that the suspects in the New York shooting had “a slew of previous arrests, one of which could have caused their ice and expulsion from the United States”.

“But they did not do it because they occurred largely in the courts of the sanctuary where the ice had no cooperation of the local authorities,” he said.

“The assertion made is that these policies are necessary to protect immigrant communities, but the only things that sanctuary policies really protect are criminals,” he said. “States and localities like California, Los Angeles, Denver, Boston, Massachusetts, New York and New York which have sanctuary jurisdictions make much more likely that criminal foreigners are released in the street to reoffend.”

Lora Ries, an expert in security and immigration of borders at Heritage Foundation, predicted that if the sanctuary policies continue, “there will be more avoidable crimes and more victims that should not be victims.”

“It is not only a threat of national security, but a threat of personal security,” she said, adding, “and we already have too many examples of avoidable crimes because the authors should not have been here. They did not take place through the border the first time, the second time, the third time, the crimes committed before and no longer in the ice.”

Ries stressed that, despite the democratic affirmations that Trump’s immigration repression is unpopular, it is sanctuary policies – which allow illegal criminals to escape ice – which the public is opposed.

Since 2015, the majority of Americans have generally favored the deportation of illegal immigrants. The latest Fox News survey, published on Monday, found around 8 out of 10, 6 out of 10 in 10 and 4 independents are in 10 republicans agree that at least illegal immigrants accused of crimes should be expelled, while others should be offered a path to stay.

Representative Gabe Evans, R-Colo., Whose district includes Denver parties, told Fox News Digital that sanctuary policies have made Colorado the second most dangerous state in the country.

“It is an absolutely horrible impact on public security. And this horrible impact is directly linked to the policies of the state of the sanctuary which handles the cops and deploy the red carpet for criminal organizations like Tren de Aragua,” he explained.

“We are talking about firearms and drugs and trafficking in human beings and children’s abuse,” he continued. “And the predators and criminals who perpetuate these violent acts, peddling fentanyl in our community, literally killing the Americans and the coloradans by the thousands, it is the people who were among our society under the policies of the state of the sanctuary in Colorado.”

Evans added that in addition to inhibiting the police from above, sanctuary policies “also send a message to other external groups with which it is normal to interfere with and, sometimes, agents of the application of the laws of aggression.”

Tricia McLaughlin, assistant secretary of the Department of Internal Security, directly blamed democratic politicians for sanctuary policies.

“When politicians of the sanctuary ignore the ice prisoners, they protect illegal criminal foreigners at the expense of American citizens,” McLaughlin told Fox News Digital.

“Make no mistake, democratic politicians like Hakeem Jeffries, the mayor Wu of Boston, Tim Walz and the mayor of Bass de Los Angeles contribute to the overvoltage of the attacks of our ice officers by their repeated vehicle and their demonization of ice. Comparisons with modern Nazi gestapo beyond the pale of rioters.

“These reckless policies have fatal consequences,” she added.

However, Diana Crofts-Pelayo, spokesperson for the Newsom office, rejected.

“Their statements are false news,” said Crofts-Pelayo, adding: “This is the Trump team attempt to justify their cruel and militarist actions on entire populations, including Americans, holders of legal statutes and even citizens born in the United States.”

She underlined the new data published by California Department of Justice which indicated that global crime in the state has decreased in most categories in 2024 compared to 2023. The report indicates that the rate of violent crimes in the state had decreased in 2024 by 6%. However, he said violent crimes were still up 10.8% compared to 2019. Newsom came into office in January 2019.

Although the California homicide rate is up compared to 2019 (4.3% against 4.2%), the spokesman stressed that he is still the “second lower since at least 1966.”

“Trump holds American citizens, tear families and disappears from parents and workers in inhuman federal detention centers to meet massive self-imposed arrest quotas,” she said, adding, “our federal leaders should protect companies and workers who support our state and do not build private prisons in the people on which we support This state and in this country for our prosperity. “
