“The Life Alliance Organ Recovery Agency based in Miami, Florida, has a long, gap file directly linked to patient damage,” said Kennedy. “Staff deficits alone may have caused … up to eight missed organ recovery every week. About a life has lost every day.”

Kennedy shared the history of his nephew Michael, who had a cerebral paralysis and died at the age of 20. His organs continued to save several lives.

The secretary urged the Americans to think in advance, saying that organ donation is something “we all need to think”.
