Almost two -thirds of American voters say that Congress Democrats should not force a closure of the federal government if their requests are not satisfied, according to a new national poll.
But a New York Times / Siena survey also indicates that voters would blame the Republicans and President Donald Trump, as well as the Democrats, if the government stops at midnight on Tuesday.
Currently, there is no indication that Trump and the republican majority at the Congress or Congress Democrats are ready to reduce the temperature, the two political parties in disagreement on a temporary short -term spending plan to avoid closure.
Democrats insist that any agreement to prevent a government closure must prolong the tax credits for the popular affordable care law (ACA) beyond the end of this year. These credits, on which millions of Americans count to reduce the costs of health plans under the ACA, which was once called Obamacare, should expire unless the congress is.
