EXCLUSIVE: Former special lawyer Jack Smith is said to have followed private communications and telephone calls from nearly a dozen republican senators as part of his investigation into the riots of January 6, 2021, Fox News Digital learned.

A Document, Review by Fox News Digital, Revealed That Smith and His “Arctic Frost” Team Investigating Jan. 6 Were Allegedly Tracking the Phone Calls of Gop Sens. The document, recently discovered by the director of the FBI, Kash Patel, and exclusively obtained by Fox News Digital, is called “Cast Assistance” and dated September 27, 2023. “Cast” refers to the survey team on the FBI cell analysis.

The document, which has the names of the FBI agents involved, marks the ID affair as “the Arctic frost – the law on elections – the question of the sensitive investigation – Break”.

The document indicates the names of the legislators and that a special agent of the FBI in the Smith team “carried out a preliminary analysis of the toll” on the toll files associated with the legislators.

An FBI official told Fox News Digital that Smith and his team to follow the senators could have seen which telephone numbers they called, the location of the phone call originally and the location he was received.

One source said that calls were probably referring to the vote to certify the 2020 elections.

An official said that the files had been collected in 2023 by Smith and his team after having assigned the main telephone suppliers.

“Arctic Frost” was opened inside the office on April 13, 2022. Smith was appointed special advisor to resume the investigation in November 2022.

Fox News Digital learned that the deputy director of the FBI, Dan Bongino, informs these legislators about the discovery of Smith’s surveillance on Monday afternoon on Capitol Hill.

A source said that Bongino and FBI Patel director thought it was important to inform senators “as soon as possible” after the discovery of the file.

“It is a shame that I have to stand on Capitol Hill and reveal this – that the FBI was once armed to follow the private communications of the American legislators for political ends,” Bongino told Fox News Digital. “This time is over.”

Bongino added: “Under our direction, the FBI will never be used as a political weapon against the American people again.”

FBI officials told Fox News Digital that the newly discovered records were in accordance with a surveillance request from Senator Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa.

Patel and Bongino personally carried out an additional examination of the case “Arctic Frost” after Grassley’s request.

An FBI official told Fox News Digital that “Arctic Frost” is a “prohibited case” and that the examination forced FBI officials to go “beyond in order to keep this promise of transparency”. The discovery is part of a wider review in progress, Fox News Digital learned.

“The American people deserves the truth, and under my direction, they have it,” Patel at Fox News Digital told. “We have promised the responsibility of those who armed the police, and we will deliver it.”

Patel added: “Under our watch, the FBI will never be returned against the American people again.”

Smith, after months of investigation, charged President Donald Trump before the Washington District Tribunal, DC, in his electoral case in 2020, but after Trump was elected president, Smith sought to reject the case. Judge Tanya Chutkan granted this request.

The case of Smith cost taxpayers more than $ 50 million.

Fox News Digital could not reach Smith to comment.
