European leaders form the coalition before the visit of Zelenskyy in Washington

European leaders in a “coalition of willingly” rush to show the unit before the arrival of the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Washington.
The push occurs after Axios reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin asked Ukraine to withdraw from two oriental regions at his Friday summit with President Donald Trump in Alaska.
Trump is now putting pressure for a three top with Putin and Zelenskyy “Fast”, perhaps on August 22.
French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz will practice practically on Sunday.
The summit with Putin is put at the top of Trump’s agenda this week while the Ukrainian war occupies the front of the stage

The “Coalition of the Willing” aims to form a singular front before Zelenskyy faces Trump. In their August 13 Joint declarationMacron, Starmer and Merz said that the coalition “would reject territorial concessions under force” and put pressure for binding security guarantees for Ukraine.
Axios reported Putin’s terms would move much more land to Russia than Ukraine would not win. He also launched China as a possible guarantor, a decision that would reject NATO. European nations consider this to be a direct challenge to their security system.
President Trump said European leaders took care of him to generate results.
“There are many European leaders, but they count on me – are a lot of them on me. If it was not for me, this thing would never be resolved until the last person is breathing,” said Trump during a press briefing last week.

European leaders believe that their coalition can give additional support to Zelenskyy when entering the talks. Trump said to Zelenskyy and other leaders whom he wanted to move quickly to a three meeting with Putin on August 22, according to Axios reports. The goal, he said, is to get all sides in the same room and test if a breakthrough is possible. Such a summit would mark the first direct meeting between the three men since the start of the war.
The expression “Coalition of the Willing” described Iraq’s American invasion once in 2003. Today, Europe uses it to block any peace agreement that redraws the borders of Ukraine by force.

The meeting on Sunday, the White House of Zelenskyy speaks on Monday and Trump’s push for a three top will show if the European coalition has a real influence or if Washington and Moscow have fixed the terms alone.
