Europe wins the Ryder Cup 2025 behind strong performances by Rory McILroy, Ludvig Aberg

Farmingdale, ny – A Black Bethpage beat suddenly turned into war on Sunday, but Europe was held late to win the Ryder Cup.

Shane Lowry won the 14th point necessary to keep the cup with an out of 18 to make his match against Russell Henley in half. Tyrell Hatton won the last half-point necessary on Collin Morikawa to give victory to Europeans.

Lowry entered the 18th down, and Henley and Lowry stuck their iron inside the feet of the hole. Henley was the first to win his match and to keep the hopes of the United States alive, but his Birdie Putt was a short short circuit.

It spoke of Lowry, who emptied the putt in a moment of golf forever classic.

An emotional lowry has gone absolutely crazy about green, celebrating with teammates, family and friends.

Europe ended the second day by 11.5-4.5, the largest deficit that a American team has ever encountered in the current 28-point format of the event. However, after Viktor Hovland had to withdraw due to a neck injury, Harris English seated the bench and because of the event rules, their match led to equality.

Thus, Europe only needed two points out of 11 to be the first champion repeated since Europe won three successful games from 2010 to 2014. However, it was certainly a version to obtain these two points. The United States has won three consecutive points, with Cam Young and Justin Thomas both Birdieing out of 18 to win their games, 1.

Suddenly, the tides began to turn.

Bryson Dechambeau retaliated from 5 to seven to equalize his match with Matt Fitzpatrick, who could have won him if he had not missed a 3 feet by 17 while one.

Ludvig Aberg beat Patrick Cantlay, 2 and 1, to give Europe 13.5 points, but after that, Europe has not led any of the remaining matches. Suddenly, the United States has listed only three points, but Lowry had nothing.

Lowry has obtained the weight of several shots throughout the weekend of the United States crowd, which can be the only bad part of being associated with Rory McILroy at the Ryder Cup.

The Aberg match was the only victory of the day for Team Europe, and the 8.5 points in the United States on Sunday are equally for most teams by a team on the last day of the current format of the event.

But overall, it was a 15-13 victory for Europe.

The captain of the Keegan Bradley team, a fan of the New England patriots, told his team on Saturday, facing this seven points deficit, that he was in the building for the 28-3 of Pats in the Super Bowl.

“Yeah, the boys really fought today. It was incredible. I didn’t expect anything different. These guys are really an incredible group …”, said Bradley. “I did not expect something different today than these guys who are determined, proud and played for each other, playing for their team, playing for their country, and they have shown the world today that, really, everything is possible. Europe won each of the first four sessions, a Ryder Cup first. Three of these sessions were 3-1 scores. It is also the first time that an outside team has won a Ryder Cup since the incredible return of Europe in 2012 to Medinah.

The United States has struggled to recover almost the other side of the Black Bethpage road on the nine back the first two days, with more than one handful of matches ending on 14, 15 and 16 throughout the weekend.

But Sunday, out of the 11 games played, all except one made at least 17 holes, with eight going every 18.

The Ryder Cup 2027 will be played in Limerick, Ireland.
