An accident in Florida which killed three people sparked an ultimatum from the Secretary of Transport Sean Duffy on the commercial license rules of the States. But two of the three states appointed by the secretary say they are in accordance.
Duffy’s push intervened after an illegal Immigrant in India, Harjinder Singh, has hit and killed three people in a semi-trailer tractor while turning U-Florida Turnpike on August 12. Singh’s current commercial driving license has been issued in California; Previously, he had one in the state of Washington, and Duffy said that there was a traffic stop at the New Mexico where his platform was not “out of service”.
Duffy gives states for 30 days to follow the law or may lose federal funding as part of the car carriers’ security program.
“We are not going to tolerate states that do not respect the rules that come from this department,” Duffy said at a press conference on Tuesday.

Following the accident earlier this month, federal investigators said Singh failed skill tests in English and signs.
The office of the California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom argues that they were following federal law when the Singh license was distributed and blamed the Trump administration.
“It is rich. The Trump administration approved the federal work permit for the man who killed 3 people-and now they rush to blame themselves after being caught. The nonsense announcement of Sean is as great as the Trump administration itself. Sort!” A spokesperson for the Newsom office told Fox News Digital in a statement.

Deputy Secretary of Internal Security, Tricia McLaughlin, previously challenged the Newsom calendar which indicates that he received a work permit under Trump.

“False. Harjinder Singh is illegally in the United States and its work authorization was rejected under the Trump administration on September 14, 2020. It was then approved in the Biden administration on June 9, 2021,” McLaughlin said on August 18 in response to Newsom’s Press Bureau X.
Michael Coleman, spokesperson for Democratic Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, of the New Mexico, said that they were “confident” that a “complete examination of these incidents” will show that the state followed the law.

“The absolute priority of New Mexico is the security of its residents and visitors, and we are convinced that our laws of the State for Commercial Driving License (CDL) are fully compliant with federal regulations,” he said, adding that the State requires an English test to ensure that drivers know the road panels.

“We are aware of the recent complaints concerning the application of these regulations and actively seek more information from the federal and state partners concerned. The initial reports suggest that these assertions relate to a small number of road incidents over a period of three months.
The Washington License Department said last week that a survey was underway on how Singh was able to obtain a commercial driving license in the state. Wednesday, Fox News Digital contacted the office of Governor Bob Ferguson on the announcement of Duffy.
“It’s about keeping people on the road. Your families, children, spouses, loved ones, friends,” said Duffy. “We all use the roadway, and we must make sure that those who drive large platforms – semi -final – can include road signs, that they have been well trained.”
