EXCLUSIVE: The commission planning the celebration of the 250th anniversary of America is led by people “who hate President Trump more than they like America,” said former executive director of the group at Fox News Digital after being dismissed from his work for having published on social networks to cry the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
Ariel Abergel, 25, was recently dismissed from the America250 Bipartite Commission for what the outfit called for a “security violation of a commission social media account”.

The affirmation of a “security violation” is “false news”, however, said a Trump administration official at Fox News Digital.
“Ari has always had access to social media accounts and published a message honoring Charlie Kirk’s memory,” said the official.

Abergel will receive a different role in the Trump administration, the manager told Fox News Digital.
A spokesperson for America250 said the group was justified to move.
“The semi-pricing commission of the US Congress put an end to the employment of its executive director, Ari Abergel, with an immediately effect after having launched a security violation of a social media account of the commission, tried to obtain the resignations of several commissioners by putting so that the provisions of the Congress Management, have declared to a statement of several other influences.
Abergel was appointed to the board of directors earlier in 2025 by the Trump administration.
“I was appointed to supervise America250 and execute the vision of President Trump for America250 and on behalf of the board of directors,” Abergel told Fox News Digital. “But the board of directors and the president were not necessarily aligned.”

The Bipartite Commission is chaired by Rosie Rios, a former help from President Barack Obama, appointed to the group by President Joe Biden.
Abergel told Fox News Digital that the Commission “had been prey to years of dysfunction, greed and cronyism”.
“America250 is led by people who hate President Trump,” Abergel told Fox News Digital. “This dismissal is proof of this, and I wear it as a badge of honor.”
Familiar sources with the situation told Fox News Digital that before his dismissal, Abergel had asked Rios to publish a statement which would condemn political violence after the assassination of Kirk, but Rios would have refused to do so.
Abergel then used the social networks of the America250 to publish a tribute to Kirk, using the commission’s Instagram account to publish a photo with a legend by reading: “America is in mourning. May God bless Charlie Kirk.”

After publishing the message, a familiar source told Fox News Digital that Bergel had received a telephone call from the Advocate from America250, threatening him for legal proceedings on behalf of the Commission for having used the social media account.
During the appeal, Abergel was accused of “theft of government property,” said the source, adding that the commission management “took a particular problem with the fact that the post mentioned God,” noting that he was “too divisor” for the accounts of America250.
The next day, Abergel received an official opinion from the America250 the lawyer informing him that his access to the office and to the computer systems and his messaging account had been dismissed. He was then asked to resign but refused, said the source.
The following week, Abergel was officially informed that his job was dismissed, said the source.
As for the content of the publication, a spokesperson for the America250 told Fox News Digital that the organization “was not commenting on the news, whatever the horrible”.

“In the past few weeks, Mr. Abergel has challenged the directives of the executive committee of the Commission, engaged in unauthorized actions linked to the programming, finance and communications approved by the Commission, endangering the operations and reputation of the Commission,” said the spokesman for America250 in the group’s declaration. “The Bipartite commission remains determined to offer a unique celebration for the country’s 250th anniversary and will quickly appoint a new executive director, in consultation with the White House and the 250 working group.”
A spokesperson for America250 also said that the social media platforms and the committee’s website had been withdrawn from the Autoire d’Abergel. These responsibilities were transferred to another employee of the Commission, according to the spokesperson.
“Despite this clear written directive, Ari connected to the account, changed the password and its two-fact authentication contact, effectively locking the account commission,” said the spokesperson. “ARI was treated in the same way as any other federal employee who initiated a violation of the security account of a social media account of the government agency, has repeatedly challenged the direct orders of its employer and distorted its authority to try to obtain the resignations of several members of the agency’s management organization.”
America250 claims that Abergel’s actions were the basis of his dismissal, but have not provided specific examples of the alleged “insubordination and subversive behavior”.
America will celebrate its 250th anniversary and everyone is invited: “Be inspired for the future of our country”
But Abergel defended his work, stressing that “each major decision I made had the support of the White House and, in many cases, the management of the Congress”.
“There was no false statement,” he said.
After the publication, America250 allegedly alleged that “unilaterally withdrawn the partner organizations signed by the Commission’s website and ended the underlying partnership agreement without process,” dismissed contracts without prior approval and provided other examples.
When they were asked for additional comments, Abergel told Fox News Digital: “I worked in close coordination with Rosie Rios, who fully supported my leadership until my tribute to Charlie Kirk.”
“She has never raised any concerns with me,” said Abergel.

The assistant press secretary of the White House, Anna Kelly, told Fox News Digital that the Trump administration is “incredibly proud of all the work of Ari Abererme at America250 – especially during the Army250 parade, which boldly honored the bravery and the strength of our military and our military women.”

“Thanks to the White House working group established by the executive decree of President Trump of January, we will continue to coordinate closely with America250 to ensure that all the events before the 250th anniversary of our country receive the great celebration that our country deserves,” said Kelly.
As for the Commission’s relations with the president and the Trump administration, the spokesman for America250 told Fox News Digital that America250 “is proud to have the management of President Trump while we prepare and plan for the 250th anniversary of America”.
“The president and his team have been and will be large partners because we create the most important and inspiring celebration and commemoration in the history of our nation,” said the spokesperson.
